crazyjkass
So, I was planning to come back to the game to try out Real Time Settler, so while I'm at it go through FOSE and see what's what. Somewhere it says that FOSE encounters weird glitches on Vista when installed in Program Files/Bethesda so I figured why not uninstall/reinstall in Documents/Games. (easier to find files there anyway, right?) But, when it's installed in /Games I find weird glitches. Like, the regular launcher doesn't understand where it's installed, the story events like naming yourself, receiving your BB gun don't trigger, etc... sometimes it just crashes, whether or not any mods are activated. I'm thinking I'll just go back to Program Files/Bethesda because I didn't notice anything that cripped the game like that.
Skotte
The reason "program files" is not recommended is that in Vista & in Win 7 Windows doesn't want anything changed IE mods can go missing Fallout3 already puts files in documents so putting in there likely confused your computer It's typically recommended to install Fallout3 to somewhere like "C:\Games\Fallout 3"
Rabbit1251
I have mine installed on Windows 7 at C:\Fallout 3 with FOSE and FOMM and I haven't had any problems at all. It may not be that that is causing your troubles. Rabbit
