CTD using Alternate Start

Okay, I really need some help. I have tried for 3 days now to understand this problem, and I still can't figure it out. I am using Skyrim Mod Manager, not Nexus Manager. I load all my mods, and when I start the game, the game will CTD to the desktop with no message at all .

im not sure im reading you correctly, if you crash on the main title screen before you even get a chance to load your game then do the following.

 

-download Tes5edit

-install Tes5edit

-open Tes5edit

-when prompted make sure all your plugins are checked (skyrim.esm doesn't have to be checked)

-watch tes5edit load up all the info it needs from your mods, when it gets to the mod that has the missing master it will stop loading and give you an error.

-once you know which mod is expecting which file to be present you can either install that mod or remove the mod that is depending on the missing file.

-make victory bacon sandwich.

I don't crash at the main screen, I crash after a press the New Character button. It loads for 5 seconds then crashes to the desktop without any message.

I'm getting this problem too. My computer is good enough to play skyrim (new graphics card) and works well with saved games. But when I want to start a new life with alternate life, it always crashes during the time when you configure your new character. Normally after you choose male or female. I have switched off all my mods, and run Loot! but still crashed every time...

 

What I have running is:

Dragonborn, Hearthfire and Dawnguard, the unofficial patches for Skyrim and these,

Update esm

Alternate Life,

Apachii Hair

Master of Disguise,

Sky UI

Guard Dialogue

Realistic Crime Radius

 

That's it! I don't think the guard dialogue and crime radius will have any effect on the character setup, so I left them on...

I plan to switch the other mods on once I've got past the character setup...

 

Any tips would be appreciated!

I see two possible issues.

1) Civil War Overhaul. This mod should only be activated on a new game. Attempting to install it mid-game will most likely mess up your saves. Read ApolloDown's notes on his mod page for details.

2) Helgen Reborn. This mod must be activated under very specific conditions as spelled out on the mod's page. In particular, it can conflict badly with Alternate Start - Live Another Life. Read the Helgen Reborn mod page carefully on how to get around this.
