ImNotCrazy44
When something says omod version, that means it's not an esp file and works with oblivion mod manager?

mccrab
Actually OMOD version has a .esp file but it is compressed inside the OMOD file. When you activate the OMOD with mod manager it places the files from the OMOD to your data folder.

nosisab
Thanks ^___^ ...archive invalidations are for mod manager as well right?Think OMOD is a 7z file (literally, you can just change the extension and unpack it normally) with an extra "configuration" folder. So it's exactly the same common mod with the same files and folders to be placed inside the /data structure as any other mod. The most apparent advantage is OBMM keep track of what it install, so uninstalling is much easier. The archive invalidation feature from OBMM benefits everything, not only OMODs. Indeed what you see in the OBMM's right window does not affect the game at all (the actual omods), they are for the utility exclusive usage. Once you "enable" the omod it's ESPs (esm) shows up in the left windows and disappear when the mod is disabled (albeit the omod itself is kept), it's because the "physical" files install/uninstall(removal). Although not evident, the same applies to every mod's files, textures, meshes... and so on. PS: the Archive invalidation is a mechanism to tell the engine to use the most actualized files instead the vanilla (the name invalidation is misleading sometimes, it means just "do not use the original files when newer ones exist somewhere else")
