Rossum
Personally, I'd start my own team but I tend to prefer other groups who actually trade with me and I can benefit from interacting with. The Outcasts are elitist jerks, but at least Morgan has a semi-easily accessible trading operation to trade technology for supplies. If the Brotherhood had anything like that (which frankly they should since they have a mission that uses up alot of ammo and personnel) then I would like them more. The Slavers give me an actual incentive to not kill every moron that picks a fight with me... being enslaved is pretty much the closest thing the Wasteland has to a 'jail' where raiders can be sent off to. If they were slightly smarter they could get some serious PR boosts by helping clear the Wasteland of Raiders. As such, I just wish there was an easier way for me to enslave Raiders than just one at a time and having that one dude complain when the slaves die on the trip back. The Trade Caravans are nice, I always try to make my way to Canterbury Commons to invest in them. A little more protection for them and organization and that would be nice. Also, I always play with the RobCo Certified mod, I like it because it lets me repair all those wandering robots that I run into and I can have a few of them follow me as bodyguards and even park some of them in strategic places to help guard. Thus, if I were in the Wasteland, I would start in the vault studying hard to become a robot repairman (Andy needs maintenance and I'm sure I could work that into my Jukebox repairman or Pipboy Programmer duties). As soon as I leave the Vault, I'd try getting access to a robot or two to become my bodyguards and start exploring the place. I'd make connections with the Outcasts and Slavers so I can make some extra profit from my scrounging and Raider-blasting activities, then make further connections with groups in Megaton, Tenpenny Tower, and Rivet City. I would certainly go to the RobCo and Nuka-Cola factories and repair and convert any robots there, then see if I can start up some robot production myself (harvesting any wandering robots I run into is also a must). Then, start setting up robotic defenses around the various civilized areas and charging a decent fee to people to help keep the Raiders and wasteland monsters out. By the time I rescue Dad from Tranquility Lane, I should be a full-blown scientific robotics expert. Kindly warn him that running around the wasteland with no armor, weapons, or bodyguard is a bad idea and give him some freaking equipment. Then, when we see about starting up Project Purity I'd make darn sure that I'm not the only one in the group with combat experience. Yeah... that one guy in the group who's always complaining to me about why I'm here and 'My Daddy' is making his life miserable... yeah, if he'd just look around at the still warm and bleeding corpses of the Super Mutants that I just killed who were standing around in the Jefferson Memorial only a few hours or days before (not to mention they are the reason the team left the first time!). Anyway, before dad and the scientists try getting the Jefferson Memorial set up I'd have a whole mess of defenses set up to make sure Super Mutants don't come back... and that should at least buy some time when the Enclave attack. I'd have at least a few guards on hand guarding Dad so that Autumn would have to play nice while speaking... or at least stall him until I get there. If I reach Autumn before he closes that bulletproof glass thing then I could gut him like a fish if he gets out of line. If he plays nice, I might help him out for access to his production capacity, if not... I'll just beat him to a pulp and either kill him or enslave him. Regardless of what I do to Autumn, the second I get within speaking distance of 'President Eden' I'll just reprogram his brain to do what I want. His robots would be mine to control along with any humans who are willing to listen to him (after I reprogram him) or to me (after I explain how they can get freaking rich by using their resources intelligently instead of stupidly). If they don't like me... I'll just have Eden gun them down with his robots while I mop up the survivors with whatever superweapons I decide to deck myself out with. My organization would be founded on the principle of making a profit, harnessing technology to improve the wasteland (and making a profit), and eliminating all the monsters and maniacs that make life difficult for me and my allies (while making a profit). Lets just say that once I get project purity set up via having one of my robo-buddies activate it (while I stay a safe distance away) then I'll sell the Aqua Pura to any Trade Carvans or other merchants who agree to deal with me use that money to collect technology and invest in the place. Get the Slavers to get rid of the Raiders, get Talon Company to help clear the Super Mutants out of the DC area (or help the Brotherhood do that... just to keep them busy). And I'll see if I can't get some of the Nuka Cola bottling equipment set up to fill the Aqua Pura bottles and make it more efficient (get those lazy water beggers to help with the bottling). Yeah, I'd certainly go with my own team and be a bit more profit driven with decent emphasis on technology and combat. Nothing makes allies better than caps. GETbacon
well the pros to the brotherhood is that they try to help the peopel of the wastes which seems moral also the random raider or low level super mutant will pose no threat what so ever with power armor. all so you have a giant robot on your side cons: you have nothing to do really except stand around and maybe pop off a few rounds. enclave pros: makes every one looks like neanderthals and your trying to re-establish the government which would be the logical chose and all thous scientist could probably make a giant robot if told to. cons: would probably get caught up with documentation and that's no fun also a really determined guy being fallowed by a camera crew could murder not only you but the entire organization. outcast pros: sweet paint jobs, more actively participated in the world, sweet simulations and probably other things. cons: fight with siblings, black = hot suit, no giant robots for you unless you find one which you won't. merc pros: well equipped and paid to murder people and seems intresting cons:black = hot suit, morally bankrupt, your marks probably better equipped and has a bigger squad regulator pro: awesome dusters and cowboy hats, after a few post-traumatic happens you could fool your self your in a very screwed up wild western with radiation. con's: not well equipped or paid, fallowing a fruitless endeavor. Fatal Fiore
I have a twelve step plan for my takeover of the Capital Wasteland: 1:Escaping the vault, I would head down to Megaton and help Moira complete book, after recruiting Jericho to assist me with raiders, super mutants and other nasty goulies. I would make sure to keep a positive appearance but still be a pain to anyone I encounter while scaving, winner takes the loot and it's a dog eat dog world. 2:After making a successful book with my knowledge of the Wasteland(this would tkae a week or two of mapping and exploration as well as testing Moira's ideas) I would begin the search for James(Dad) and assist him in bringing Project Purity back to working condition. After saving Clover from her life of bondage(buying her off Eulogy Jones) and grabbing Charon as well as Dogmeat, we would set up defense in and around Jefferson Memorial to keep out mutants. 2:With our defenses(sandbags, turrets, repaired robots, etc...) when the Enclave attack we would take them hostage and force Colonel Autumn to have his men stand down and I would offer him the choice to assist us in finding the GECK or a life as a slave for the slavers. 3:Before heading to Vault 87 me(and after some convinging and help from James ) the Brotherhood would help us whip Eden and all unloyal Enclave soldiers will be executed. 4:Utlizing our new equipment(couresty of the Enclave) I wouldstart recruiting the wastelanders and towns into a decent army and outfit them with Powerarmor with training. 5:Entering The Citadel, I would secertly disable Liberty Prime's Combat Inhibitors so that when activated he'll take out the Brotherhood. 6:Faking a Enclave betrayal by ordering the remaining troops to instigate the Brotherhood Liberty Prime would be forced to service and woudl kill all the Brotherhood within the Citadel, save Elder Lyons and Sarah Lyons. This for the purpose of taking over Brotherhood's remnants. 7:I would execute all Outcasts at this point to prevent thier interference. After this is accomplished I will then take control of Adams Airforce Base and the Mobile Crawler and destroy the NCR and Western Brotherhood for good measure(It's orbital weaponry they can kiss my ass I'll use it on the Westcoast) 8:Rebuilding Fort Constantine, I would utlize it's nuclear missile payload and whip out the Central United States Brotherhood and use it's nonnuclear payload to destroy Mutant and Talon Company strongholds. 9:I'll begin study on how to reverse ghoulifcation(it's a radation based disease Enclave tech should be able to purge the radation and begin repairing the damage skin tissue) and enlist the ghouls with the promise of a cure(which hopefully will come) 10:In my central powerbase of Fort Constatine I will setup the United States Government and reclaim the entire Eastern Seaboard as the rebuilt US. To this effect we will have begun rebuilding only eastern cities and states. 11:I will then hold elections for a president(no longer holding strings over the people of DC after it's reconstruction and fresh water Purifer nwould be pumping) and reinstate democracy. 12:Screw the world, focus on the Eastern Seaboard and fixed the super mutant problem by bombing Mariposa and removing irradated water. Everythings hunkydorey and several years will past and the U.S. will be the only haven for the people. I know it's a bit harsh but it's all within reasonable lines, orbital weaponry lets us hit anywhere in the world so as I said screw the rest of the U.S., keep the Eastern Seaboard. Reversing ghoulifaction may be possible Fallout Universe hasn't given us that much yet so who knows, maybe being a ghoul becomes like getting a cold. falloutperson416
In your post, you have set up a good plan, but there is a couple of flaws that could place a huge dent in your plan to take the US for yourself: 1. You planned to hack into Liberty Prime and disable the protocles for assisting the Brotherhood, but Rothchilds log in Liberty Primes's computer states that you can not mess with anything in Liberty Prime, because his A1 computer is basicly preventing you from doing anything, like removing power from his primary weapon systems. (Which is why at first, Rothchild could not power him up.) So if Liberty Prime could'nt be used to destroy the Citadel, the Brotherhood would still be a massive threat to your force. 2. Your plans also stated that you plan to remove the west coast with an orbital strike, right? Well, the BoS may have a base similar to Raven Rock, ya know? What i'm saying here is that even though an orbital strike can destroy alomst anything, the west coast BoS might be in an advanced HQ like the Enclave(Raven Rock survived nukes, did'nt it?). Furthermore, once the west coast BoS have been attacked, who's to say they wont contact the BoS in the citadel and order them to rain terror on you force? 3. You also stated that you were going to over run the Enclave, and if everything that i've stated so far has happened, that might be the slitest bit difficult... The Enclave did not back down when a 50 foot tall robot that hurrls nukes was attacking them (I'm just stating that this is what happens if you go with the BoS), I seriously dought there going to back down when they see a ghoul in leather armor, a dog, a girl that cant live without men, a raider, and a 19 year old in an armored vault suit... (Considering the Enclave have nearley unlimited recources that consist of hundreds of troups, vertibirds, and a computer for a president) 4. Last and the least, with the Enclave, Brotherhood Of Steel (Plus west coast) and any other forces that wanted to join in, plus super mutants, plus Rivet City security (Depends if some of them hated your force and wanted to rebel) plus any junkie, deadbeat, wastelander, or settler in the capital wasteland that wanted some fun where to fight against you, I have an extremely hard time believing that a ghoul in leather armor, a dog, a girl that cant live without men, a raider, and a 19 year old in an armored vault suit are going to succeed in claming the wasteland as there own. I only siad what I siad in this wall of text because I like the BoS... ( Dont take any of this personaly in any way, because I actually would like your plan if it did'nt consist of harming the BoS or Liberty Prime.) If you look at my signature, it is a picutre of Liberty Prime... Which prooves i'm fond of him Cheers! Falloutperson416
Fatal Fiore
Argh double post! Oh and well the only way to go around harming Prime is to steal him with Vertibirds by staging a internal coop de'tat or tricking Brotherhood into letting Enclave in and making it seem like they turned on me as well by pretending to take me captive. With that effect they would come in and take Prime. I have to hurt the Brotherhood, their too strong(NCR owning them easily without their powerarmor) but I could keep Lyon's pride and Elder Lyons(as well as Squire Maxson) alive long enough to evacuate them with Jericho and Star Paladin Cross. Under pretense of a small rogue element of the Enclave the surviving Brotherhood would be given a Vertivird and access to Enclave technology as a a way to make it seem as if it was just a random rogue element. Oh and I suppose all the scribes could be saved as well, I like Rothchild in particular. It seems like a overdone plan but think about for a second, nuclear watsleland USA, multiple factions are arrogant jerks that are more concerned with technology than saving mankind(Who cares about a goddamn weapon schematic we need water purifiers and food not flipping guns and nukes) The NCR are good people but they wouldn't join in helping rebuild the U.S. my way due to the bloodshed it would cause however for the NCR supporters if you can come up with a way to get them onboard we can spare them in my plan and use the manpower they'd bring to seriously rebuild all of the US. Fatal Fiore
I'll be honest I had a contigency plan for EXACTLY what you mentioned but wasn't sure if I should include them. 1b:If unable to utlize Liberty Prime I would plant several timed mininukes with about half a ounce of C4 on the upper catwalk of the lab and various locations that would cause the Pentagon to collaspe internally. As to this effect I would use Enclave explosives and their concussion grenades to set them up should they refuse to cooperate in the first place. If the Enclave are cooperating they'll be used to directly assualt the Citadel with Vertibirds from a distance while I setup charges in the Barracks and living quarters. Hopefully this destroys the BoS' main stronghold and only one in the Eastern Seaboard(Ibelieve Lyons claimed they lost contact with the old brotherhood so no chance of getting screwed over by a warning from them.) 2b:Orbital weaponry is suppose to be able to penatrate earthen bunkers with the exception of the Vaults and probally only them so Mariposi, Hoover Dam, California and NCR's main powerbases would be destroyed if it's deemed the Western brotherhood can't be defeated with such tactics. To this effect I would secure better Brotherhood assistance from the main force by defeating their enemy(though the NCR has a good idea sacirfices must be made.) 3c:The Enclave listen to Autumn over Eden so by taking him hostage and purposing such a plan to him would be more inline with what he wants. The Enclave have no reason not to join and would in fact probally back the plans 100% as long as the Brotherhood is either pacified or destroyed which all of my plans intend to do. 4b:By eliminating Mariposa and vault 87 Super Mutants(whom don't work with ANYONE but Centuars and themselves) lose their means of creating more by destroying the FEV. The ghouls would keep dissenters in line thanks to their great numbers and anyone else who refuses to go along will be given to the new police force to perform manual larbor tasks on rebuilding DC(Slavers are recruited as next generation police due to the fact they detain people and we reinstitute capital punishment. Slavers will be paid greater salaries, around 4-6k caps a week so those moneygrubers will follow the rules as long as they maintain power over the prisoners.) Nothing personal against the Brotherhood but due to their power and machoistic militaryism they are the worst canidate for rebuilding the country so by removing them it unlocks endless potentional(The Enclave ae only bad so long as Eden is incharge and we all know Autumn is a big softie...erm...sorta). Let's be honest ghoul population(nonferal) is quite vast, more so that you can expect millions of people to be afflicted with Enclave technology and their experimental radation treatments(Autumn was in that lethal chamber and he injected himself with a syringe before passing out so it's plausible) that we could purge their radation and begin to undo the genetic damage, however chances are they still won't be able to reproduce and the best for their skin is to graft off the dead flakey skin and bathe them in pure water so that lingering contaminates could be washed off and reopen their pores. With a process of leech therapathy(or mutated leeches w/e) blood circulation could be used to repair cellular damage by getting their blood pumping correctly through thier bodies. I know I speka alot about the ghouls but if you help them and you start to become a ghoul wouldn't it be nice to have such a cure or symptomatic treatment on hand? falloutperson416
As you siad, getting the Brotherhood to work with the Enclave is next to impposible. Although, you want to rebuild america, and Colonel Adum does not support edens plan to do so, all he wants to do is upload the FEV virus into the water. But just think, if the BoS were to work with the Enclave, there would be no stopping them. So my point here is that the BoS are more focused on the common good of the wastelands people, as Elder Lyons will tell you multiple times. (The Brotherhood wants to clean the water up so the people of the wastes dont have to drink that iradiated crap) Although, if you were able to take Adum hostage, and somehow toture him into working with the BoS, and tell him if he busts a move, you would bust a super ultra massive moster mama jam on him... Then you then take P P under contole and purifie the water. When this is done, you utalize the mobile crawler as your new base of operations. The BoS would transfer Liberty Prime and all of there tech to the mobile crawler, and then destroy the Pentagon, leaving no trace. Then, with the Enclaves tech, you could then rebiuld Liberty Prime, and make him the kick - ass beast that he was created to be. Then, after all of the preporation, you and your new army can rain terror on the mutants, raiders, and anyone else who is preventing the rebuilding of America. I actually think that this whole idea is pretty sweet, and maybe in the future we could start to make talk of a new mod... Thank's, Falloutperson416
evilneko
Elder Lyons's faction may be focused on the "good of the people" but the Brotherhood at large is not. The Enclave actually has the best chance of "rebuilding America" of all the factions, with resources greater than all Brotherhood factions combined even after getting whopped in previous games. Unfortunately the tyrannical system they are striving to set up is not what I had in mind. One faction people seem to be forgetting is the Outcasts. With Lyons's faction busy with the war against the Enclave, I'd try to convince the Outcasts (who stick to the true Brotherhood ideals, mind you) to first not shoot at any of Lyons's folk and second, to clean out Evergreen Mills, that northern SatCom array, and Wheaton Armory. I'd also tip 'em off to the tech kept at Fort Bannister, so they could go in and deal a crippling blow to Talon Company. It probably wouldn't take much convincing, either. All of those places should be gold mines for them, and if the Outcasts captured them, they wouldn't be used as bases for hostiles like Raiders and Talon Co. Using the mapping device Reilly gave me, I'd map out as many Enclave camps as I could, and turn their locations over to the Outcasts so they could raid and ransack them. That would likely get the tech-happy Outcasts sending out more patrols, patrols which would inevitably have a deleterious effect on the miscreant and monster population of the wastes. I'd have 'em walking Lyons's path without them even knowing it. :ninja: And since Lyons's faction is so busy, someone's gonna need to pick up the slack in DC. That's where the Regulators and Reilly's Rangers come in. I'd have to convince them to take in some new members, maybe the escaped slaves, and then hire them to sweep the ruins, engaging raiders, mutants, and Talon Company wherever they were found. I'd probably have to personally help out to get them to go along with it, but that'd be no problem. The overall goal would be not to form a government, but to make the wasteland relatively safe. Once security is established, more extensive trade, improved communication, and even production and finally government follows naturally.
Warnolo
Well, i don't like the enclave or the BoS. Ones are freaking american nazies and the others are... "well intencionated" fanatics? (they messed up in pittsburg just for a few pieces of technology). Reily rangers are cool, but reily is annoying. If there was a faction i would join that would be the regulators. They dont have powerarmors or the best technology, but god they are the coolest faction in the game. So i would create my own faction based on the regulators plus supermutants and ghouls. Just need the right mod...
