I've installed quite a few and it seemed to be working okay. But now I'm getting a lot of crashes especially in Megaton. This is the load order report fomm gives:Can anyone help me with this? nosisab Posted March 10, 2010 Share Posted March 10, 2010 Anyone?Contrary the said before, GOTY is already patched with 1.7 version, so it should not be the problem. Most crashing issues in Fallout 3 are "sound" related, even image stuttering (duhh) beyond every sound related issue, of course. I have found the original codecs (mainly in Vista and 7) are the main guilt. The former villain (ffdshow) that comes with packs like k-lite or CCCP are now the better solution. These packs install codecs and filters that works better with the game and the ffdshow itself is automatic flagged to not interferes with several games (including fallout 3). A filter named MAD (MADfilter) is specially useful in reducing sound issues to a minimal and crashes to almost absent. So, my advice is you getting the newer k-lite version and do a little tweak to make it use the gabest codecs where possible, before going ahead trying to solve the problem changing load order, disabling mods and such.
