Humor: Truth or not?

One day a florist went to a barber for a haircut. After the cut, he asked about his bill, and the barber replied, "I cannot accept money from you; I'm doing community service this week." The florist was pleased and left the shop. When the barber went to open his shop the next morning, there was a "thank you" card and a dozen roses waiting for him at his door.

Later, a police officer came in for a haircut and, when he tried to pay his bill, the barber again replied, "I cannot accept money from you; I'm doing community service this week." The officer was happy and left the shop. The next morning when the barber went to open up, there was a "thank you" card and a dozen donuts waiting for him at his door.

A Congressman came in for a haircut and, when he went to pay his bill, the barber again replied, "I cannot accept money from you; I'm doing community service this week." The Congressman was very happy and left the shop. The next morning, when the barber went to open up, there were a dozen Congressmen lined up waiting for a free haircut. And that, my friends, illustrates the fundamental difference between the citizens of our country and the politicians who run it.

It could also apply to the section of the country on welfare.

In this day and age that is a rather insulting statement. There are still many skilled, hard working people who are unable to find employment who need to make use of civil programs like that to be able to afford to feed their family. While yes, there are also those who try to exploit the system in order to continue their pathetic lazy lives, that is hardly the norm.

How true.many with years of working for one employer, paying their bills on time and being honest ,hard working people now find themselves wondering how to feed their families or pay the bills.

Welfare was created to give those in need help so they could return to work, unfortunately those that abuse the system give everyone who uses it a bad name.

Funny how much a small joke can associate. Never the less, I feel I have to add a small comment on this one.

When are we gonna learn that the word "welfare" doesn´t have a negative sound to it.

We pay our tax, I do it proudly, and whitout complaining. If I am in need of help, i don´t have to stand there with my eyes down,

and say please. It is my and the other taxpayers money. When we are working and having a good income, we pay a good deal of tax.

When we are in need, we get a little share of our money back. It´s a kind of an insurance. (almost commie) :P
