MATTCSMITH
Looking for keen modders and 3d designers for a HUGE modding project more details at www.TESprojectT.spruz.com or email me @ [email protected]
David Brasher
Just a suggestion: You might want to provide a few more details here so people don't have to chase down links or write you e-mails. You might get more modders excited about your project that way.
MATTCSMITH
ok well the basic details are as follows i intend (preferabley not by myself to make add ons to the map for the other 8 provinces making new races, armour, creatures ect i admit this is a BIG undertaking and iv yet to try modding it self but im am intrested in modeling for games as a career anyway so you gotta start somewhere www.TESprojectT.spruz.net cheers Matt
SpeedyB64
If you are a good modeler and want to make other provinces of tameriel there are many other projects that could use you on there team. Actually I think there is a major project for each province. Also some screen shots of models you made would help entice people follow you. If you can model up to Oblivion quality there are many projects that would love to have you. If you are fairly new to TES modding joining a team is usually the best way to gather experience. Most of the large projects have a WIP thread at the Bethesda Forums.

Pronam
You know you're basically telling to be done at 4 years from now? These things aren't done in a few weeks, months..a year even.. 8 provinces...Full with quests, races with new animations that take a more than a month for each creature, new models for weapons, buildings, activators, custom dialogue.I would call you crazy if you proposed for 2 provinces, but I'd be more than honest to say you'll fail at doing eight. If you have to start learning to model you already have months and months ahead to learn that one to use effectively. These are the common thoughts about these topics. What most 'suggest' with these large projects is just to start off with 1 province and see if you'll manage to get that one ready. Otherwise people will quit working once they realize how much time all will take before it's completed. Other than all that, you'll have to be a lot more convincing on what you're going to do. A lot of lore is involved with the provinces and a lot of lore/stories would be needed to make the quests/things interesting. You're going to need a lot more than just modelers! And other than that again, you'd not have to be afraid about the general idea you're proposing as you'll have more trouble finding people than any ideas stolen. I've actually never heard anyone that except with models/textures or already done mods. Most people didn't take the effort to learn to mod, so they won't be able to. Modders are getting less and less in numbers each day. The modders that are still here are picky in what they do, they won't risk getting involved into something they don't want after all when they notice, afraid that the mod will not be completed or that they task they'll have to do will take much more time and they won't have any for their other projects. etcetc. The less info you give, the less chance someone will join. Just the general things people say with these topics, don't take it personal. It wasn't meant either.
Slawter500
This mod would take around 30 years with Bethesdas team. Not over exaggerating. It takes roughly 3-4 years for a new TES game. I'll go with 3. Thats 8x3. 24. Some provinces are bigger and as such an extra year or so there adding up to around 26. Then there's unexpected delays etc. Then testing. Another 4 or so years there. SavageArtistry
Why ask people to learn an expensive program like 3DS Max when Blender is free and can probably handle what you need?
bben46
While I admire your ambition, I doubt we will ever see the result. In the time I have been here, I have seen many projects started to make just one other province. Not one has come anywhere near finished. Most died before even an infinitesimal portion of work was done. Some have shown quite a bit of work before folding. The amount of work you are proposing is vast beyond your comprehension. Even though some of the work has already been done by Bethsoft. it would take a reasonably talented team of a dozen modders over 2 years to show a decent beta of ONE province. If you really want to mod, please find a less ambitious project to start with. Possibly a single village just over the border in one of the other provinces. Put in the world map, landscaping, rocks and trees, roads, water features, path mapping, NPCs, a new race, some new armor, weapons, clothing, new buildings, a cave, a ruin, a fort, new architecture, new objects, new containers, animations and a few quests. This will give you a feel for what you are really getting into. Much of the new stuff made for the village can be used in other parts of the province also. If it works out, you can expand that one location into a full province. If it doesn't, in just a few months you will have a village and a new set of skills to show for it. I wish you luck. MATTCSMITH
@bben46 the idea was to start of with a province of valenwood so to do maybe a small village like you suggested but maybe expanding it into a city (nothing the size of imperial city but more the size of something like Chorrol for example or small citys) that then do the area between there and the next city (just terrain) so even if it didnt have any creatures and was just rocks and trees ect then make a second and third city and in the same way and have sort of like a "playable triangle" if you like then at then add the area around to create a very basic test of N Valenwood also if your intrested please post or email me if not don't bother posting unless you have something positive or helpful to add
