Final Fantasy: Oblivion

Okay, this is not a idea for a total conversion but an idea for something like a sem-conversion. While replacing music from Oblivion with music from the Final Fantasy games, I got this idea of adding elements from the Final Fantasy games into Oblivion, primarily the races such as the Bangaa since I was using Brumecian’s moogle mod. I then thought, ‘What would Oblivion be like if it took place in the Final Fantasy universe, not just one game but all of the 3D ones?’ I started to think up how Final Fantasy Lore could fit alongside TES lore, and the only way how is to create my own lore that takes place after Final Fantasy 7-13 (minus Final Fantasy11). Thankfully I knew how to do that. And being a lover of Oblivion and Final Fantasy, I just had to think up an idea like this.

The idea for this mod is to replace factions with a Final Fantasy counterpart, like replacing the Blade’s armor with the Judge’s armor from 12, adding new locations and modifying old ones, add new lore to fit to combine Final Fantasy with Oblivion, modify and add new quests (main quest would be longer), all while keeping the Oblivion lore intact. The mod is more of a crossover mod set in a Alternate Universe; everything from past TES lore remains the same but present and future lore is altered as a result of the crossover.

I am working things out like what the mod will have, the main storyline explaining how the crossover started, as well as little tidbits such as quests, added game elements, etc. I want this mod to be fun for both Oblivion fans and fans of Final Fantasy; answering Final Fantasy fan's request to add weapons, armor and characters from the games, while providing Oblivion fans the same land they been playing in for the past years while offering replayabilty.

Ideas are open to all, but please keep flaming to the minimum.

I know, but they usually go against the lore in the game, leading to some people complaining. Its just a simple crossover idea that is bigger then it seems in my mind, and while those mods adds stuff, this one would actually change things such as the Imperial City and stuff like that. Its more like a fan-made expansion, except that it retells the Oblivion game in some way. :/

I will put up the storyline around the mod (the lore around the crossover) when I am done with it.

Like this?

Edit: Besides that, I would be interested to hear about it. I may even do something. Maybe.

Yup, like that. Though instead of it just being FF7 within the Oblivion game, it would be more like all the other Final Fantasy games in the Oblivion game/world, since each game has a element that I like and stuff like that. Adding just armor/characters/weapons, it will not!

There are so many resources you can use to help you along. Still, it's barely do-able. So many modders are busy with other projects that there are very few to join you. If you do have any skill, it might be best to offer your services to a mod that is already in the making, like Mako Dawn Mako Dusk. As a member of the team, you could ask to add material from the other fantasies (Like new weapons, character crossover, etc). Still, crossover mods of a scale you are talking about have never been successful. It lacks support, as not everyone knows/loves Final Fantasy.

I'm by no means attempting to kill your idea, I actually crave something new. You will need more than just yourself.

Problem about that is that I have no modding experience yet. This idea will most likely be postponed, but it is best to put it up here so that others can contribute ideas. I don't know if it will be successful or not, but only time will tell.
