modeling using 3d max not exporting correctly correctly

alright heres the problem

 

i open up max and try to downscale the plasma gun for my new mod

 

i export it no problem and then it comes up with this when i try to view the nif

im trying to downscale the plasma gun and then re export it back to nif format

don't think I have seen that acual error report.

looks as if its trying to load a shader acociated with shadow casting, and it won't because it says its missing a skin instance.

guessing- check your shader flags. ? I'm guessing you have left SF_Shadow_Map and SF_Shadow_frustum on. i do not get that error if i leave them checked on un rigged meshes(iirc), my mesh will simply not render the sf shadow map is enabled in geck or game. frustum enabled, will render in the geck/preview. but in game is sqaushes out into 2d and kinda floats around dodging the direct view angle.
