name523
I have been having issues lately with custom textures, made by me, not downloaded. When ever i make a texture in gimp and then try to use it in nifskope, the texture simply does not appear. on some rare occasions it does work but the majority of the time it doesn't. For the record, any textures i download or the ones from Bethesdas' BSA show up fine, it's just my textures that won't work. if anyone knows how to fix this it would be greatly appreciated. razorpony
My first question is: are you also making normal maps for your textures? This is the retex tutorial i followed and it helped me greatly. http://cs.elderscrolls.com/constwiki/index.php/Quality_Normal_Maps -Razorpony
LHammonds
You actually do not have to have normal maps to see the textures applied to the model in NifSkope...however, you will need a normal map to see the texture in the game. If you cannot see your texture applied to the model in NifSkope, make sure the path to the texture is correct. Also, make sure your texture dimension is in the power of 2...e.g. 256x256, 512x512, 1024x1024, 1024x2048, etc. If your texture is something like 114x123, it won't work in NifSkope or the game engine.
