Pineapplerum
Hi,Sorry I keep bugging everyone with so many questions. I'm reinstalling my Oblivion game and add ons. There are so many patches though, I'm confused as to which ones need to be installed for Oblivion and the two expansion packs. I plan on installing OBSE also and I know one of the patches conflicts with that installation.Could someone please tell me in what order I should install what patches with my wanting to install OBSE in mind. And should I install the OBSE v.17 or the V.18 or the autopatch?Thank you! This is covered in the Tes Nexus mod pages and I looked at that but it didn't really help me with the installation order for the patches. If a link that does help with this question does exist you can just post that and that would be great.

If a link that does help with this question does exist you can just post that and that would be great. First, install the game. Then install Knights of the Nine,if you have it. DO NOT INSTALL Shivering Isles, because that expansion will patch your game, and the latest patch you need for OBSE,doesn't work with the one Shivering Isles has. http://www.elderscrolls.com/downloads/updates_patches.htm After installing KoTN,go there ^^^ And look under 'Oblivion patches' First one you need 'OBLIVION PATCH v1.2.0416' Download and install that one,THEN Shivering Isles,THEN you can patch Shivering Isles. As for OBSE,I recommend v.18.

SI already patches Oblivion and applying an older version actually downgrades the first patch and the last SI version will always be over that. So patching first Oblivion will bring nothing new and actually may create issues for SI. The last SI patch is enough. PS: The reason 1.2.1416 Si patch is smaller than the same for Oblivion is most changes to Oblivion were done by the original SI and did not change in relation to the last patch. That combination worked for me,and I have no issues in the game play. Th reason why I did like that,is that because I had difficulties installing Shivering Isle patch,>>> SHIVERING ISLES PATCH v1.2.0416ShiveringIsles_v1.2.0416English.exe (1.1 MB) 04/30/2007This patch is for all English versions. This patch is NOT compatible with copies purchased via direct2drive of Shivering Isles. Please Note: You will need to uninstall and reinstall Oblivion if you installed any of the Shivering Isles beta patches. I had troubles with the 'old file not found' patch issue,so I did as I wrote there ^^^,and it worked. I haven't tried nothing else,so,probably there are other and better ways to patch the game. nosisab
DariusMoranda: No problem, normally just installing the last SI patch over an unpatched oblivion overrode by SI is enough but may exist special cases, mainly concerned about non common DVD media that i know nothing about. I imagine than no harm is caused (since Beth possibly previewed someone could be willing to install SI after having the game already patched)... just is a big download that Oblivion patch for those who already have SI About the Beta patches you're right, but that reinstall necessity occurs even if the beta SI was over already 1.2.1416 oblivion, since the beta breaks badly several things. I had troubles with it,you don't know how many, lol. When Oblivion crashed on me completely,I decided to make a clean install, using official expansions and very few selected mods, also,I wanted to try OBSE,as I am making my mods now,and I wanted to see how much it will help in creation as an extension for some ideas I had. I,literally, uninstalled and installed Oblivion 14 times. And it was always Shivering isle patch issue.'Old file not found'.Then I googled a bit,and still had no luck, until I talked to a friend who plays the game, and had a 'cure' written above^^. So,Oblivion patch worked over the game + KoTN,and OBSE is working smooth, too. After 14th time!
