Baldy
It has been a few years since I have played Morrowind . I have not that there are bmp files in some of the installed folders, are these bmp files needed in order that plugins will work properly?
Dragon32
AFAIK, a NIF file can only have a DDS or TGA file assigned as a texture. So... I'd say that you shouldn't have BMPs in your Data Files\Textures directory (I think Icons should only be DDS or TGA too). What I'd do is to move them somewhere out of Data Files (so they're not permanently gone) and play about for a bit. Morrowind will display missing texture errors if you encounter a problem and you can check in warnings.txt (same directory as morrowind.exe) after that gaming session for the details. A pure white mesh is an indicator of a missing texture. You should get an error message onscreen and warnings.txt will help in identifying any missing meshes or textures. Alternatively try something like Optimiser Textures which will convert BMPs to DDSs [Edit: OK, so ignore a lot of that first bit. BMPs can be set as valid textures in NIF files. I found that out checking the Ruby Weapons mod for this post. What I said about Optimiser Textures is still valid though. If there's only texturename.DDS when the NIF file says to use texturename.BMP then the game will use the DDS.] Edited July 16, 2014 by Dragon32
