Filldeserp Posted July 16, 2014 Posted July 16, 2014 Hey ya'll. I need help. Now, my PC was recently vampirised, and that's fine. I popped into the 'showracemenu' (I use Enhanced Character Edit) to fiddle with him a bit, because I don't like looking like an asscrack with a face. However, when I was there, I realised that once you vamp out, you are stuck with a crappy texture, only one choice of eye and no way to change tints/warpaint/whatever. I bombed around on the net for a while to see if anyone had the same issue and had found a way around it (if iI want to change it, someone else probably does too). I found a thread, but the advice given was along the lines of 'Go find the thing and then use the thing with the other thing, something about formlists, blah blah, morphs, blah, formlist.' What I gathered from this was that I need to edit the vampire formlists (don't even really know what these are...) to resemble the regular PC ones. Then I should have access to eyes/warpaint/tints/other stuff. I have the Creation Kit and know how to start it up. That's about it. What I really need (and would be eternally grateful for), is some kind soul to give me detailed, idiot proof guide on how to edit these mystical formlists and get back the customisation options. Thanks in advance!
lofgren Posted July 16, 2014 Posted July 16, 2014 1. Locate the formlist. (They are in the formlist category in the object window.2. open the formlist.3. drag forms that you wish to add to the formlist into the window. That's basically all there is to it.

Right, I've found the 'formlist' line under 'Miscellaneous' in the Object Window. When I click on it, the only things that come up are 'HelpManualPC' and 'HelpManualXBox'.

I forgot to load up Skyrim.esm. -_- I think I have it now, thanks for your help! (I haven't actually tried it yet, so this celebrating might be a little premature)
IsharaMeradin Posted July 16, 2014 Posted July 16, 2014 That is because you need to first load the game files you want to work with. File > Data...New window opensUnder Plugins/Masters double click the master file you want to work with (an X should appear in the box beside it)Click OK Side information:By default the CK will not load any more master files besides Skyrim.esm and Update.esm. If you need to load more than those two, follow these steps: The following needs to be performed only once.Create a new blank text file in the main Skyrim directory where TESV.exe is located. Rename it to SkyrimEditorCustom.ini and add the following [General] bAllowMultipleEditors=1 bAllowMultipleMasterLoads=1 [Archive] SResourceArchiveList2=Skyrim - Shaders.bsa, Update.bsa, Dawnguard.bsa, Hearthfires.bsa, Dragonborn.bsabAllowMultipleEditors= -- A value of 1 allows opening more than one instance of the Creation Kit. Not necessary but has uses.bAllowMultipleMasterLoads= -- A value of 1 allows loading the DLC ESM files with Skyrim.esm and Update.esm. SResourceArchiveList2= -- The Creation Kit cannot access DLC content without having the respective BSA files listed here. Alternatively, SkyrimEditor.ini may be edited to modify or add any of the above entries as needed. However, any updates to the Creation Kit or verification of files by Steam will revert any modifications made. Therefore, the use of SkyrimEditorCustom.ini is recommended. .... and you found it before I finished making the post... oh well, the side note information is still valid if you need to set things up to work with DLC.
Filldeserp Posted July 16, 2014 Author Posted July 16, 2014 Right, thanks for the info! I'm looking through- well, basically everything. Sorry to be so dense, but if I want to use normal textures, eyes and tints with vampires, exactly what formlists do I need to copy, and where do I need to copy to? There's a hell of a lot of information here, and I've never needed to use the CK before, so i'm more than a little lost. ^_^
lofgren Posted July 16, 2014 Posted July 16, 2014 Somebody might know off the top of their head, but I thought that was the part of the instructions you already had. Here's something that might be a simpler fix for you.Load Skyrim.esm and Dawnguard.esm if you have it. (Follow IsharaMeriden's instructions above for loading multiple masters.) Under Character -> Race, open the vampire races you want to play (e.g. ArgonianRaceVampire, BretonRaceVampire, etc.) Go to the Face Data tab. On the left hand side, in the box that labeled "Base Head Parts," select Face and change it from whatever it is to NONE using the drop-down list below the box. Repeat for Eyes. Change to Female using the radio buttons in the top center and repeat for females. Obviously, save your changes as a new plug-in.This won't allow you to edit your vampire face, but it will make it so that becoming a vampire has no cosmetic effects. You will keep whatever face you had before the change. The downside is that you have edited the vampire races, which means your mod may not be compatible with other mods that edit vampire PCs. And of course you have to choose your appearance before the transformation.
