Is Burke part of Talon Company?

I've been wondering this for a while. He obviously has advanced military training, based on the way he executes Lucas Simms and sneaks up on Roy Phillips when the ghouls are rampaging. The pulse charge and know how to detonate the nuke also speak of training.

He has to be either Talon or former Enclave. The reason I think it's Talon is the extermination contract he takes out with the Talon mercs that hunt you.

Find <character name> and show how we treat people that fail to live up to Mr. Tenpenny's expectations. Do not fail me. You know what will happen if you arouse my displeasure.

First he refers to them as 'we' as if he is a part of them, and it also implys he has had past dealings when he says 'you know what will happen'.

Interesting. I initially thought he was Talon as well due to the contract you mentioned, although he seemed too aloof for the typical merc. It wasn't until escaping from Raven Rock, coming upon Autumn's terminal in his room that I discovered that the Enclave have used their services as well in the past.

He has far higher aspirations than his next fistful of caps, so I'd put him in the ex-Enclave column.

I actually had the thought he might be involved in the Church of the Atom, particularly the way he acts once the bomb is detonated. In some sense, he's done them all the favor. Maybe he only took a sip of the Kool-Aid instead of the whole glass.

The Church of Atom is an interesting theory, but it doesn't explain his training. He's an elite operative of some kind. His sneak ability, his skill with that silenced gun, his knowledge of explosives, his pickpocket abilities, all speak to advanced combat training.

And I think the letter hints at more than just hiring Talon, why else would they fear his reprisals? I don't think Talon would accept someone making threats to them unless he was a superior in their organization, or part of a more powerful one.

i don't think they related, burke only hired them to kill the vault wanderer if you spared him during megaton encounter.but i'm still curious for whoever hired them to clean the wasteland from super mutant.

Well as the thread is back up and kicking, I guess it's alive now ;)

I personally think Burke and Tenpenny have powerful allies, these include high ranking Talon Company officers.

Commander Jabsco will be most likely a contact of theirs.

Perhaps Burke is a merc who was once with the Talons and was bought out by Tenpenny as a personal Bodyguard.

That would explain Burkes attitude concerning Tenpenny (Wanting him to be happy and does everything that Tenpenny desires)

Basically he is what your imagination wants him to be, there's little other information that can be used to determine who he really is.
