KiCHo666
Well, I know why, but I don't understand the decision.Whenever I open up some texture's normal map, it's barely there. Few blue/pink drops here and there. Is anyone else bothered by it?For personal gameplay I use Transparency plugin for Paint Net and increase the opacity of the normal map a bit.And just by doing that, the texture looks so much better in game.It makes weapon textures look more metallic, skin a bit more realistic, glass more reflective, etc...Maybe it's just a personal opinion, but still... TrickyVein
Not everything is shiny. Go figure. You can manipulate glossiness more effectively through the material itself like in nifskope as well if you want more gloss or a different color for the specular. There are few materials that really should be shiny, like glass, metal or plastics and even in Fallout metal shouldn't be shiny like it was forged the day before. So you can definitely misrepresent things by making them too shiny, and in my opinion it's better to be conservative than too liberal in applying shiny materials. Everything can end up looking like plastic or like it's wrapped in Saran wrap™. Edited July 23, 2014 by TrickyVein
greenknightfury
Even the glossiest material gets less shiny after the dust and sandstorms get to it.
DrMobPhD
Not everything is supposed to be covered in anal lube. Also, glossy materials won't probably stay that shiny for long in a desert that's full of dust and sandstorms.
