black06
I love the game skyrim and all but, in a way the game skyrim made a disappointing conclusion. it in my opinion and you don't have to agree with me but somehow i just wished that an expansion or something would allow my character to become ruler of a land or something just like oblivion's shivering Isles that concludes you as the new Madgod. don't get me wrong like i said you don't have to agree with me and it is a fun game but the way bethesda stopped making DLCs and no quest line to make you ruler well that in my opinion was a disappointing conclusion to me :(
Lachdonin
The same complaint came up originally about Oblivion.. "I should be able to become Emperor!". Feh, filthy swits, thinking you have what it takes to rule... Anyway, we do know that there was a plan to make the PC the Jarl of Whiterun, should you side with the Stormcloaks, but that idea was dropped for obvious reasons. And time. By and large, thoug, the PCs of TES games don't stick around long enough to rule. They sorta dissapear when history is done with them. The only reason you get to rule the Shivering Isles is because the whole point of the quest line is that you BECOME Sheogorath. That's how they removed the CoC from the picture. calfurius
Ugh no thanks. In order for you to be a ruler of Skyrim you would have no choice but to stay couped up inside of a castle all day, never being allowed to adventure. Also that doesn't really jive with the TES theme. You can be the leader of factions but not a ruler of an entire province/city. You're a hero, you do your job and then disappear into history. It doesn't have to be boring at all.Anyways there are mods that make you high king of skyrim, I suggest you guys pick those up.

Do you really think you could just ignore the hard work?Even Tiber Septim had to do it. If you want to play as a king play mount and blade or total war. Valkasha
Where did I say you could ignore the hard work? I said you could hire someone (a hand, did you read game of thrones?) to do it for you.
Gilibran
Becoming thane in all the holds, leader of all the guilds + defeating Alduin makes you more respected and powerfull then any high king. Think about it, as a thane you can influence every one of the Jarls, as head of the thievesguild you can easilly order people ruined through theft, bribe, kidnap whatever. As head of the DB order anyone assassinated, as head of the magic college have someone research powerfull magic for manipulation or train battle wizzards for your private army to fight beside the companions. You command at least 2 dragons as dragonborn. No one is going to mess with you if they are smart, better then being high king. Allas the game does not reflect that in any way. theconquistidor
There is amid that let's become the high king of Skyrim if you're interested. And I agree we should have got a little something special after everything was said and done in the game.
Lachdonin
There is amid that let's become the high king of Skyrim if you're interested. And I agree we should have got a little something special after everything was said and done in the game. But why? The Nerevarine was Hortator and reincarnation of the first king of the Chimer, he didn't get to rule. The CoC was the reincarnation of Alessia's champion, a war hero and savior of Tamriel, and he only got to rule after he dissapeared into the nebulous madness of Sheogorath and ceased to be. Even more to the point, the High King is chosen from the Jarls of Skyrim. It is highly unusual for these to NOT be hereditery positions. In fact, the Civil War is the first time we know of since The Tiber Wars that a hold has changed hands. The Dragonborn had no claim to any throne, let alone the High Seat of Harald.
