billypnats
So yea, I'm sure all of you have had this problem, different lights makes your char look good or messed up. I'm just wondering why that is and if it could be fixed
Fonger
if you have turned on the video option "self shadows" - keep it turned off.
billypnats
No I mean even regularly, without self shadow (actually in some situations I found self shadow quite enjoyable)
David Brasher
I think it is a game-engine thing. You can tinker with different settings, depending on how powerful your computer is and how good your monitor is, but I don't know if you will ever get all visual aspects of your game just how you like them. My current thing, is that there is a high-elf in one of the mods I am playing that looks fine by candlelight. But if I use a light spell, her face is normal but her neck is glowing pale yellow. Spl1nt3rC3ll
I'd get the skin tone just right in either the beginning dungeon or the "start by ship" mod, but because both are lit by torches, as soon as I step outside I realize that my character is some ugly shade of purple or green or what have you. It's a major pet peeve of mine. The starting points should have natural lighting instead of the harsh torchlight, it really screws with your character. billypnats
Is there a way to attach a subtle light source to the skeleton.nif file? So that your PC would get the right lighting? Or is this a bad idea for fixing issues like this
Illiad86
You could try using Real Lights. It makes the lighting in the game much more natural I think. It gets rid of all those fake lights and uses the actual fireplace, candle, etc. as a light point. My character looks much better in that. I also use Bloom lighting over HDR because it's just way too shiny and bright to me.
