How to add a perk to a follower via script?

How do you add a perk to a follower via script? I'm thinking it should be no more than one line of code.

You cannot. AddPerk does not work on NPCs. You will need to edit the NPC record directly and add the perk there.

That's unfortunate.

 

There is a perk called "Deadly Blow", it's a mod that adds a perk to the player to allow critical damage when attacking an opponent from the back.

 

I would like my followers to have this perk, perhaps there is another way to add the deadly blow perk functionality without using perks? Any ideas?

 

To use things like:

 

CalculateMyCriticalChance

CalculateMyCriticalDamage

 

Without perks.

You might be able to replicate with a passive ability (spell) that you apply to the NPCs.
