Alrighty, so about a year ago i got a bunch of mods, then after a few months my computer completely crashed and wouldnt work. then, after we got it fixed, i got the same mods and what not and the same thing happened- my pc crashed and wouldnt work. since then weve gotten a new pc and its a hell of a lot better, but im just scared to get the mods again, in case my pc breaks again. (my old pc was about 8 years old, new one is about 4 months old and not designed for gaming) if theres any risk in DLing the mods some one please tell me. thanks!

Mods can't break your PC, they can push it a lot harder but if the thing is working properly it should shut down if things get too hot, and if it's cooled properly it shouldn't even need that. You had an old PC break, that's all.

ya, thats what ive been told. if a pc isnt specifically made for gaming would it not be too wise to get a bunch of mods?

Regardless of what the sales people say, there is no such thing as a gaming computer. As long as the components equal or exceed the game publisher's requirements, any computer can run games. As far as adding mods, as Jim stated, the mods will not break the computer, but if you overload any of the components, it will shut down.

I am using an older Dell computer. After I upgraded the CPU, GPU and added 2GB of ram, I run Fallout 3, with 130 active mods, on ultra settings and very well, thank you.
