Murkrow900
Hi guys, and thanks in beforehand for taking the time to read my post. I've made a comeback to Fallout New Vegas recently since it's one of my all time favorite games, but having not played in a while I was pretty rusty on which mods to pick and how to use them so I've gotten a lot of help from my good friend Ball11 who is an active person on the Nexus. But now when I've started playing after tweaking my mods I've started to experience crashing to desktop or just permanent freezes forcing me to alt-tab-del & end process. I'm using a pretty solid INI file provided to me by Ryan and he's also helped me & looked through my load-order, but he thinks it's a rogue mod that he doesn't know about so if any of you could help me take a look & come with suggestions I'd be more than grateful <3 . I'm also using Enboost (disabled steam overlay to prevent problems) for a smoother performance along with border-less windowed mode. I'm fairly bad with modding myself but I respect modders immensly so once again I'm very grateful for any tips/help you can provide. I will post my Load-order/INI and specs down bellow. Best regards Murkrow, thanks again . Teratoid
Which mods did you install last, just before the crashing started to occur. Helps narrow down possible culprits. Also, are you using New Vegas Anti-Crash?

Hybris51129
Just a theory here but maybe its a Cache related issue since as you say in your title it happens after playing for sometime. This mod gives you a hotkey to clear your cache without using the console. Maybe it will help maybe not I'm in a similar boat as you with crashes anywhere from 15 min to a hour of play but that might because of all the ultra script heavy mods I am running. One other thing is that I see you are running AWOP which while I have never used I have read that some setups its get finicky about how it plays with other mods so I would remove that mod until you can get a stable setup going. Also being a mod that effects spawns may in turn effect your cache sizes. Again just a theory. When all else fails rip out all the mods to just the bare bones make a save point or 3 just before you leave Doc Mitchel's and install the biggest ones first like Project Nevada and other really big mods because they are more likely to to react well with other mods and work your way down to the tiny mods. Its hyper labor intensive and you will get tired of playing Goodsprings but eventually you will find a setup that will work or at least as much as this rather buggy game will allow. Murkrow900
That's a smart idea! Thanks Hybris, do you know what mod it is that adds the cache clear thing? Also what key is it bound to? Thanks again! Best regards, Murky.
Teratoid
Cache clearing is a good idea. One way to do it is to open up the console, type pcb, and hit enter. But that's the manual way to do it; I'd recommend using "Zan AutoPurge Crash Protector". It basically does it for you automatically, and has a few other neat little features that help improve performance. However, I doubt AWOP is the cause of any of your problems; it doesn't modify the Mojave worldspace or exterior spawns all that much; where it does, it usually adds tech raider outposts and such. In my experience, the mod is fairly stable, and doesn't conflict much with other mods. Your system is definitely powerful enough to run a thoroughly modded F:NV, so that's not an issue. This has to be something game/settings related. Try launching the game without the overlay modifier. Also, "Game Companion" is a more stable choice than "Borderless Windowed Mode". I'd also suggest looking into NVStutter Remover; modifying the "bReplaceHeap" and "iHeapSize" settings has a huge and notable impact on game performance, as long as you modify it with correct values (the read-me explains all of it). Again, it would be useful to know which mods you installed last. FOMOD installations or improperly compatible mods can mess things up, so please look over your download history and list your recently installed mods. Murkrow900
Thanks so much for the detailed instructions Tera :) <3. Hm, I found this mod "http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/56390/?" is this good enough or is that one better?
