JoshQuake
I'm using this mod: Hunting Rifle v2 I decided to make the gun a whole new weapon instead of just replacing the textures. Everything is working fine except for 1st person. The texture of the gun wielded is still the old hunting rifle texture. How can I use the custom 1stpersonhuntingrifle.dds/1stpersonhuntingrifle_n.dds without replacing the original? I don't want the custom hunting rifle to look the same as the original hunting rifle. Ghogiel
I'm guessing, but perhaps if you copied the hunting rifle entry to make your new rifle, you never changed the first person model. hence it is still the original rifle when in viewed in 1st person. ? JoshQuake
I'm guessing, but perhaps if you copied the hunting rifle entry to make your new rifle, you never changed the first person model. hence it is still the original rifle when in viewed in 1st person. ?The problem is that the way you select the 1st person model is a dropbox with no option to add a new model. If I renamed 'new1stpersonhuntingrifle' back to '1stpersonhuntingrifle' and set it as the 1st person model, the regular hunting rifle will have the same texture as the custom since I'm just replacing the original file. I'm wanting to be able to have the original 1st person model and the custom 1st person model separate of each other, but as to my knowledge (noob knowledge) I can only replace. Is there a way to add instead of replace?
Ghogiel
Is there a way to add instead of replace?yes. those entries in the drop down box are just statics. basically everything you see in the Fallout.esm are just some sort of geck entry. there are very few exceptions. look under static>weapons for the 1stperson models. perhaps, you might be able to add several entries to a form list and use that as the 1st model. JoshQuake
Thanks for the help. I got it working and wow I never noticed how bad the original texture looked until i saw the two side by side.
Nihilisaurus
or you can just not use a 1st person model and have it display the same one as the world/NPC model, which is only a problem if you want a higher rez 1ss person/player 3rdperson model/texture.
