Beaten by an Ugly Stick
How long will we humans survive? What fate do you think is in store for us, and how will it come about? Will we as animals survive the test of time or even one another? Will humanity end in a nuclear storm fueled by superpowers? Will we leave our planet before our sun's fuels exaust or maybe the Earth's recources will be gone long befor we have the chance. Will we live till the end of time itself? Will we die from our own creations of mechanical intelligence or biological construct? Or lose a battle with another intelligent race in the distant future? But the debate is what and why?

Shakkara
Well it's not just revelations, but also the Mayan and Hindu prophecies, which all tell basically the same thing. That and I have had dreams all my life about things like this with the number 2112 repeating itself which I think has something to do with 21 december. The Maya prophecies say 22 december 2012 I found out later, but it could be different timezones etc...
Marxist ßastard
No, it just means that you have a number fixation. Don't worry, it happens to all of us at some point in our lives. I go catatonic whenever I see the number "5""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""
Pob
Belive 22nd December 2012 is when the Mayan 5th Age ends. There is no forseen Sixth Age! Shadowrun has a partcular take on this (for those fans it is in the main rule book) and the world takes on a new shape. For a more lighthearted veiw of the end of the world check out Good Omens by Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman. The paintball scene is funny as hell (pardon the pun) Personally we don't know whats round the corner tommorrow so to try and see what the end of the world will be is a little tricky. We will wait and see

Jormundgand
Well, we die fighting and up in Valhalla waiting for Ragnarok or end up in Hel. Following the fimbul winter that will last for 3 full years the battle of Ragnarok will be held, the earth will go under and a new better world will appear. :D So yeah, when i feel the end is draging near, i will throw myself toward the nearest fork and start stabbing at the air. If that's not dying in combat i don't know what is.
Albareth
"The world" ending IMO will happen eventually, looking scientifically at things. If you're refering to the human society as "the world" then that will happen a lot sooner, but speaking of the universe I believe it will eventually, in eons and eons to go, contract back into a single point of mass, pre big-bang... but that's just my opinion, maybe the universe is open, not closed, maybe it's something else at all... Being not religious I'd say, speaking realistically, that we'll self-destruct soon enough, it's in our nature. I don't have a lot of faith in humanity - I tend to grant faith in people or things as deserved, and we haven't shown ourselves very competent at living in harmony and working out our problems so far, have we? In the end - our own pride will be the end of us - one way or another. As for religious armageddons that have some points in common, most religions have some form of armageddon, I don't really think that thos common points are something that strengthens the existance of such a theory as some people might claim. It's just the regular case of an idea popping up in one religion and others stealing it and "personalizing it" for use in their own religion IMO. Happened all the time with all kinds of religions so far - even if you follow some one religion even you must admit it's happened with other religions (since I know you won't with yer own :P ). (PS - don't take me less serious due to my avatar, I'm the pink bunny man and proud of it! Any prejudice done to me based on that will be reported to the authorities! :P :D )
