Does the general install order change for patch 1.7?

What is the general install order for Fallout 3, the DLC, mods, mod management software, patches, etc.?

I've looked all around, can't find any strait answers.

EDIT:

This is the install order I THINK it should have:

Fallout 3

Patch 1.7

DLC

FOMM

FOSE

Unoffical patches (for whatever reason)

Mods

How's that gonna work?

Yep, this should work. Regarding the unofficial patch, better leave it,

So you'd end up like this:

Removing any files of previous installs

Cleaning the system (CCleaner)

latest GfWL-Client

Fallout 3

Patch 1.7

DLC

FOMM

FOSE

Mods

Defragmenting

Starting Fallout once via the default Launcher

... good luck :)

Kool, if I wanted to include GECK in that, where would it go?

The order is not really that important, but logicaly you might be best with.

Removing any files of previous installs

Cleaning the system (CCleaner)

latest GfWL-Client

Fallout 3

Patch 1.7

DLC

GECK (into the Fallout3 directory)

GECK Update

FOMM

FOSE

Mods

Defragmenting

Starting Fallout once via the default Launcher

Many thanks, installing now.

BTW: I have Fallout 3: GOTY edition. Any changes to the order?

nope, maybe an extra portion luck? :D

lol I know! The second disc is a female dog to install! I have win xp. :'(

But I found a way around the "no disc in the drive" glitch. :)

EDIT: lol b**** = female dog??? :D classic

WinXP is perfect. Vista and Win7 would require an additional work around the UAC problem which I forgot to mention and which just doesn't exist on XP, thankfully

Yeah... my bro didn't have any such prob tho, he runs win7 too. O.o Must be a wizard of this stuff. lol

I have the "no disc in drive" prob tho. Sux.

EDIT:

I looked at your sticky out of curiosity... I should've looked at those links first.

install both disks - that way you already have the patch and the DLC

then install the rest

and of course if on Win7 or Vista

don't install to the default location.
