Can the DLCs be played in any order?

It's a different ballpark when you're faced with 3 or 4 of them and they all have double barrel shotguns blasting off at you. The super mutants usually only come in pairs and typically have either hunting rifles or even in higher levels where they'll have gatling lasers they're not accurate enough to do much damage, but the shotguns at close range are pretty lethal.

I am a scout and sneak by nature no heavy armour, move fast and light that’s me and take most of the baddies out before they know I’m there.Oh and don’t take my lunch with me.

I think I’ve finished the main Lookout quest now, killed the bad guys etc. I don’t want to spoil it for others.

The only problem I found was getting into the Cathedral. The Intercom voice was stuck in a loop I couldn’t get out of. After a few tries I disabled Sharing and Caring Companions, SCC Talk to Anyone, and AllSpeak. I don’t know which one caused the problem but I managed to complete the conversation on the intercom and gain entry.

I have a lot of side quests to do now, but so far I have got Nadine a boat to run and her Mum is happy.

I think the DLCs must be designed to be used individually as although the problems were much harder than the Wasteland they were not insurmountable. It just needs more thought as the gung Ho approach will get you killed very quickly.

Thank you for masking your response so that you don't give too much away to others who have not been through this yet. Not everyone thinks along those lines. I'm not into the "gung ho" approach either. At best I'm well satisfied with a suit of Talon armour to cover my modesty and my trusty ol' Lincoln Repeater for offense. Oh, and my girls now keep their lunch money in their socks where it's lots harder to find. Give them Hell for me!!

I’m using the Lookout Tribal clothing, I like to get into character and it looks good on me.

I don’t like the Talon stuff, for one thing they don’t play nice and keep trying to kill me so I don’t even want to associate myself with them.

They even one time made me split a finger nail!

I can see lots of open triangles on my head up display so lots of things to explore.

I passed some houses during the big quest but didn’t go in, so I think I’ll have a look there first.

I have just noticed that although I am getting perks, I am not getting any experience points it is still at 20 and says MAX.

I have read up on the DLC’s and it says Broken Steel is the one that unlocks the Level Cap from 20 to 30.

Hopefully I only have to enable the DLC to unlock the Levelling, or I will have to start again.

Why is the Level not unlocked for Operation Anchorage or The Pitt then?

I have found that by just enabling Broken Steel, my level Cap went up to 30 and my XP to XP29450/32500

I have now left Lookout Running, disabled Broken Steel again and started Anchorage, I have decided to go down the normal DLC trail (Oh, except for point Lookout).

I did find that another topic loop I couldn’t get out of in the first Anchorage quest. I had to disable T_R_A_S_C_H.esp to finish the topic and get into the simulator.

If you wish you can leave all of your DLC's enabled and come and go to them at will. It won't change anything in the game to have them all up. I'm glad to see that you didn't loose your earned experience by not having Broken Steel running. As I've said I've been through the DLC set once already, but it's almost like going through it again for the first time to hear your stories of them being told.

I'm enabling the DLC’s one at a time so my screen is not overwhelmed with quests.

I finished Operation Anchorage just now (I think I just rushed through to get it over, as it’s all very easy point to point) and tomorrow I start the Pitt I hear that one might be worth doing with quests etc.

I fully intend going back to the interesting ones and complete as much of the quests and unmarked quest as I can find. I still have a lot in Point Lookout to do but was concerned about getting experiences points so went back to the beginning.

I have already installed the Pitt Clothing patches for the Malos body’s ready to start it hopefully in the morning.

That Anchorage takes it out of you, it’s all one long search for health, Ammo and the next target.
