End Game Spoiler Question

Just got a question about Oblivion... When you get far enough into the main quest, you go after the Mythic Dawn. Well, anyone ask themselves HOW Cameron has on the Amulet of Kings? Isn't it only supposed to be wearable for those of the Emperial line? I know it didn't like me. Just curious if I had missed something there.

Was he actually wearing it? If so, you raise a very valid point! I must have missed something. Perhaps he used some sort of naughty majik to subvert it.

EDIT: Just realised this is in the wrong place, please use the spoilers section for anything spoiler related. :)

Moving...

They never said he couldn't waer it. I'm sure you could have worn it while you were delivering it (I didnt try). They just said that it's magical properties would only be activated by one of the Septim blood line. Plus, he was safe guarding it from you, right? Where better to hide something then on yourself? That way it is extremely hard to get it.

Sorry to correct you Adras but, the whole thing about the amulet was the fact that only the true emperor could wear it. Martin says this as well, he confirms he is Emperor when he puts it on and says that since he is able to wear it, he is obviously next in line.

When you try to put it on, the amulet itself slips off you. :)

It's hinted at in the Pocket Guide to the Empire, page 21, and some in-game literature.

Basically, the royal line split in two during the War of the Red Diamond, with one tangent thought having died out with Uriel III and Potema, in some eyes (the Mythic Dawn appears to be included here), the last "true" Septims.

Camoran is quite possibly a descendant of that bloodline.

(May be awhile since last post, but...)

Thanks for the pointer, I forgot about that. After re-reading the pocket guide.. Things are a bit clearer. Kinda scary thought. The Blades are suppossed to potect the Empirial Line, yet they fight against Cameron... Who says a giant demon controling the world isn't a better thing than a world NOT filled with blood thirsty daedra? Silly Blades.

  • 9 months later...

hmm the bloodline is possible but i thought of a different solution to the strange issue.

He is in "paradise" while wearing it, and paridise is HIS world. He created, and controls it completely (which he never stops to brag about :glare: ) so mabey the magic doesnt work that way in paradise. as Martin says it himself: "The old rules does no longer count."
