Fallout 3 won't start!

I'm running on windows 7 ultimate 64x and I did a clean install of Fallout 3 : GOTY with DLC in c:\Fallout 3.

 

My problem is that when ever I try to launch it I get a error message that states: "The ordinal 5360 could not be located in the dynamic link library xlive.dll"

 

Can anyone give me some advice how to fix this?

 

P.S. I'm not running any mods yet and I haven't updated the game to 1.7 (still @ 1.0)

If you installed the DLC that should have patched your game to 1.7 aswell.

 

but on to your problem there are a couple of fixes but it depends on how you want to play the game.

 

if you want to use LIVE with your game you would need to update the LIVE component

 

or if you want to play offline or with >FOSE< you'll want to get >FOMM< & after you set that up go to "Tools" then "install tweaker" & checkmark the "use fake xlive.dll" box.

5360 means you have a Windows Live issue

 

Update it.

I tried using the FOMM trick but that failed the game kept CTD. Also updating the live file had the same effect. (this is with two reinstallations of the game and DLC that came on the disk).

 

Now I'm trying to install the main game, update it, and then install the DLC. Wish me luck! :thumbsup: :sweat:

I tried your CTD guide but I came accross a problem there. I cant find/ don't have the ffdshow folder anywhere in my system...

 

Please advise.

Check C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs

 

If you can't find it go to start->computer-> and then type ffdshow into the search box in the top right corner. That's how I found it so I would think it would be the same for you

i have the same problem except it says "the ordinal 5359" instead. it works fine with no dlcs installed
