Jenrai
What operating system are you using and where have you installed Oblivion/OBMM? Windows Vista/7's UAC can do some real fun things to mods and moddable games, particularly when they are installed to the program files (default) directory. Just running things installed in there as an admin won't cut it either, the UAC would actually need to be disabled. Which is very, very bad and highly unadvised. If that's not your problem we'll need more info - How d'ya know the mods aren't working, which mods are they, how do you know the OMODs are working, etc etc etc. Good Luck.Jenrai
Tomlong54210
Install Oblivion outside of the Program Files (x86) folder if you are not using XP. Make sure your game is patched to the latest version, and set "BSA Redirection" in OBMM (Utilities > Archive invalidation.) wildmagicrose87
im running windows 7, and i have all my oblivion based stuff in a seperate folder than the programs list. i know it isnt working because when i activate a mod in obmm, then check the data files in the oblivion launcher, the mod inquestion remains inactive. also, in-game testing backs up these claims; the mods dont activate. i know that the omods activate, because in the data list of the launcher, after ive activated the omod itself, the esp it comes with activates. the mod'd effects then appear in-game
Tomlong54210
If your game is not patched to the latest version, many mods' content will not show up in game. If you are not using the GOTY edition (or have not installed the second disc) you need to patch your game to the latest version. Latest Official Patch - http://www.elderscrolls.com/downloads/updates_patches.htm Also, set BSA Redirection in OBMM (Utilities > Archive invalidation.) Excuse me, but what do you mean by "remains inactive"? Are you saying the OMOD is not active? Where, exactly, do you have Oblivion installed? wildmagicrose87
my game is patched, and i forgot to thank you, tom, for helping me on that. i can only activate non-omods in the data files in the oblivion launcher. at some later point, this does manage to share the info on what is and isnt active with obmm, which i recently un- and reinstalled. i have also found that cannot edit my load order, due to this same problem. this has a severe effect as certain mods do not work properly unless they are at the end of the load order, and BOSS tender to place them earlier in the list, which may or may not even have an effect on my game, considering my main problem. bben46
Are you sure you are actually using OBMM? When it starts there is a division on the screen, the load order is on the left side of the screen, and any OMODS you have are on the right. All OMODS will be listed in alphabetical order only and cannot be changed. The left side lists each esm and esp each with a check block to activate it. That is where you change load order. An OMOD (on the right side) that has a green block has not been installed yet and there will NOT be a corresponding esp on the left for it yet. When you double click on the green block, it will install the mod, the block will turn from green to blue, and, if the mod includes an esp, it will appear in the left side where you can change it's load order. There are 2 ways to move a mod in the load order list. One is to select the mod (left click on it with your mouse) then use the buttons on the bottom of the screen 'Move Up' & 'Move Down' to move it one slot per click. The other is to left click on the mod and hold the button down. Then drag it up or down in the list to where you want it before releasing the mouse button. When you either close OBMM or start the game, OBMM actually passes the mod load order list to the game, then closes. OBMM is not active while playing the game. The data list in the game is not always in load order, and cannot be changed. There should be no reason to even open it after using OBMM. On the far right of the OBMM screen there is a block that says "HELP" That is the manual on how to use OBMM. Just above the help is a button 'Launch Oblivion' the first time you do this it will show a message with information and instructions. follow the instructions to launch the game from OBMM. If you have installed OBSE properly, the launch Oblivion will automatically launch OBSE also.

Tomlong54210
The way BOSS sorts LO's is fine. However, if it does not recognize mods, it puts them at the end. You have to sort those yourself. Set OBMM to run as administrator. It sounds like it is not being allowed to modify your data folder. You may need to turn off the UAC on the folder Oblivion is installed in. So, please, tell us the actual and correct path you installed the game. That is the first symptom of the illness your problem suggests. Once you uses OBMM and yet more important, once you use OBSE you should nevermore use the original game's launcher. It's because once you open the Data Files list on there it can unmake the OBMM work AND/OR if you uses OBSE you'll corrupt, maybe helplessly, your savegames if starting the game without it. Remember the right window at OBMM is just informative on OMOD based status, all actually installed mods will show up with a blue mark and have their ESPs at the left window. All the above were already suggested in previous posts, please help yourself helping us to understand the issue without ambiguities or doubts, having actual informations without need to speculate over possibilities.
