JTG2003
I don't know how well this would fit in, but I feel like it might be worth a shot. So, instead of being able to fly around (magic carpets, flying dragons, etc - they feel too cheap. Get anywhere effortlessly), it might be cool if you could glide down to areas. I can't see a character wielding a hang-glider, but there are several wing mods that may be used in conjunction. Probably only usable outdoors, limited control in the air. Thoughts? kieranfoy
SOunds like the slowfall spells from Morrowind.
krimzin
Exactly like slowfall. Which Oblivion damn well needs, especially if your character has demonic wings jutting from his shoulder blades that are useless.

Slowfall, but forced to move slowly in a forwards direction
toxicironcytes
sounds pretty cool. it would be nice if the controls had the feel of the popular flight simulators when the engines are turned off, too.

I guess it's too much to ask, now that I think of it. Modifying gravity only when the character is moving down.. and the animations involved. I can see why it hasn't been done. alonsomartinez
I remember seeing a mod that whenever you fall a certain amount of distance a new animation starts to play which shows the character free falling . i dont know how they got the animation to play but somehow they managed to be able to read how long you are in the air and after a certain time in the air the animation played. This same thing could be used to see if you are in the air maybe after 4 seconds you cast a spell and if you are in the air for 4 seconds you disable the up movement and only have the S A D commands to move and you can tcl which lets you fly but you would have to solve the problem of being able to move through everything and under the land mass which would replicate the exact thing that you are asking for Its quite doable and I might try it tomorrow after I complete all the things I promised good old Kieran I miss that from Morrowind. Being able to jump from the top of a dwemer tower and In the last second cast a spell that lowered me gently to the ground Heres a link to mod http://tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=30601 Edited May 14, 2010 by alonsomartinez
Germandeathkittiez
Mods like Chingari and Ismelda's Demon Race, give you races with demon wings that allow you to fly. Of course, it's more directed toward high-end computers, that is it chops off a few frames. There's another angelic race I saw once, that lets you fly in a slightly different way, totally differently scripted, it looks cool but you can't shoot arrows. I forget the name of it at the moment. If you're looking for just gliding and already know about this, sorry for the unnecessary post.
Slawter500
It's probably doable, for the reasons stated by alonsmartinez. But, I don't think a hang glider would be the way to go. Animations would be tricky, and clipping would probably be a problem. But I think this is a good idea.

If you jump with the mod on, you can see your character moving slightly forwards right away, and if you jump from, say, the top of white-gold tower in the IC, you can watch the entire animation play out. As far as I can tell, there's no "fall distance check" thing, just a really long animation. In that regard, if you do it the same way, it would probably be pretty easy to simply make a gliding animation with wings, and a script to make the character move forward while in the air.
