workdangyou Posted August 19, 2014 Share Posted August 19, 2014 (edited) I'm not quite sure when it began, but I noticed yesterday that selecting a perk and accepting would cause my game to freeze and eventually that my game would freeze trying to load games while I was in-game. Loading from the main menu worked just fine. I have spent a couple hours working on this and narrowed the leveling up freeze down to xCaliber Universe ESM AND ESP and the loading down to xCaliber Universe and FWE master ESP's load order. If I have the Universe ESP and/or ESM active, I am unable to level up. If I load the Universe ESP before the FWE master ESP, I am able to level up but the xCaliber guns don't appear correctly. If I load the Universe ESP after the FWE master ESP, I am unable to level up but everything appears correctly.I am unsure as to how to proceed here since I have never had double edged problems like this and I highly doubt that these issues persisted since the moment that I installed the mods since I would have noticed much sooner. Current load order is shown below. I uninstalled FWE due to the issues with xCaliber weapons not showing up correctly. I have used BOSS to change the load order and that did nothing, so I followed Earache's own load order which included FWE and xCaliber and that didn't work either. Any help would be appreciated. If I have FWE installed but deactivated and the eXcalibr ESP and ESM activated, I am unable to load.EDIT 3: I quit. Fallout 3 wins. I have fixed the issue loading, the issue leveling up, and the CTD and they all came back. This is a miserable experience and absurd. If someone told me that this happened to them, I wouldn't believe them. I hardly believe it myself. I can't even run 25 or so mods (the largest of which are commonly run together) without the game s***ing itself. Merged patches, load order, reinstalling, compatibility patches, none of them worked for more than an hour or two, all because I took a break. I should have expected it, though. Every single time I take a multi-hour break from the game, the first start up of the game freezes. Just another thing that is entirely random about this game's stability.EDIT 4: It all comes back to xCalibr, it seems. When that's entirely deactivated, everything works correctly. M48A5 Posted August 19, 2014 Share Posted August 19, 2014 You need to get your load order corrected first. Since you say you had FWE, go to the FWE mod page, scroll down the page and there you will find a sample load order. Once you have your load order corrected, you can then go about correcting your other problem. Also, uninstall any mod you are not using. Any files that are in the Data folder are loaded into memory. Unless you have made the game Large Address Aware, FO3 will only access 2GB of RAM. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

His load order seems to confirm this. (I'd love to check out some of the edits he made in those patches btw) Are you using his mod that just adds the gun shop or the one that also adds the Book of Earache quest? If you're using the latter, you'll have to reinstall it. FWE overrides a lot of it's weapon models otherwise. And, like Earache did, I tend to place xCALIBRuniverse.esp all the way at the bottom of my load order. Never had any leveling problems.
