natepruett
I can't seem to get FOSE to run. I have FO3 GOYD and see FOSE in the Package Manager of FOMM, When I click "Run FOSE" in the FOMM, it says it appears that FOSE has not been installed. I've FOSE v 1.2 beta 2 (most recent I believe) and I've downloaded NO patches (though I'm thinking GOYD comes with a number of them). When I extract FOSE to FO3 folder I get all sorts of errors (and it won't load) and when I simply click the loader.exe is says I need to make sure it's run in the same folder as the FO3.exe. Obviously, I'm screwing something up here. Can anyone offer me some advice? Thanks.
fap6000
The package manager is only good if you're good at using it. That fancy stuff an even FOMOD can cause more problems than it solves with a new user behind the wheel. Stick to the manual stuff it's the safest bet. If you installed FOSE correctly then FOMM automaticly detects it, then when you open FOMM it says launch FOSE, rather than Launch fallout GECK, FO3edit, FOSE, FOMM all get installed to the same place, bethesdasoftworks/fallout3 You messed up, start over, an try again, it's what we end up doing a lot. natepruett
OK, so I must be unpacking and installing FOSE incorrectly? What is the pathway for me to unpack it? I extract directly into FO3 folder, but the FOMM still says FOSE is not installed. I can survive without it, but there's a couple of mods I want to run that need FOSE. Thanks. Sounds like bullcrap to me.think slowly over this issue ever check the number of mods that pack the files differently?? like 2-4 predicate folders before it even gets to the folder named "data" or the one that starts with the name "data" putting a sub tree structure within your data folder now containing odd things possibly including the folder named "data" - within the data folder obviously all of these mods won't work using the "direct unpack" technique" then there are the rare mods that don't even include any tree structure that need files individually moved into their proper (sub)folders. Not to mention OBSE that simply doesn't go into the "data" folder.
Quetzlsacatanango
Unpacking them directly is a lot different than unpacking them incorrectly.
Skotte
FOMM's package manager wouldn't setup FOSE correctly as FOSE goes in the "Fallout 3" folder & package manager would put it in Fallout 3's "Data" folder. I am a fan of unpacking the mods then using the package manager to "create from folder" after I check the file structure & readme
fap6000
I drag an drop into a shortcut on the desktop, that's it. I'll look at it yah, but beyond that it's over. Why are you even having trouble installing FOSE? Read the FOSE read me, an then keep trying.
