batesmotel34
Level 130 Ok Ok... There is no way in hell the game was designed to have a typical playthrough with players reaching level 130.THAT is farming. Play through the game without doing ANY metagame. Not a shred of it. Don't for ONE SECOND say, "well I can do all the fighters guild quests because the main quest of the game doesn't update on time, and it won't punish me for not doing it." That's META-GAME. Also don't use any mods, not a single one. Imagine that the main quests storyline and implied sense of urgency was real.If the main quest DIDN't wait for you, and the world exploded if you didn't do it.THEN play through the game.Obviously a couple sidequests get in... that's fine. But level 130 is not a typical playthrough.(and not even possible without a hack) You were not level 130 and you weren't level 2. What level was your character the FIRST time you won.BEFORE you had advanced knowledge of ANYTHINGand ONLY answer if you DIDN'T ignore the Main Quest. I'm assuming the answer is 30...because that is what the designers assumed. Please tell me you're real answer. glut glutBolgo The Madd Considering the original leveled lists were ploted to level 30...34-5 Are you really looking for the level where player's finished the main quest or are you really asking at what level a character gets uninteresting to play and hence is due for retirement. I suspect it's the latter. My first character was roughly level 34-5 when I finished the main quest but that was after I had become ArchMage in the MAges Guild, had done severl Dark Brotherhood quests (just before the start of the LaChance questss), and a couple Fighter's Guild and Thieves Guild quests. At this point the character iis in the high 30's and I think I am about to retire her I really don't want to do everything in the game with a single character since it sort of kills the role playing feeling and the character is less challenging at this point even with the levelling in game. I think that it is reasonaable to assume an upper cap in the 30-40 range for how high characters should stay playable for the purpose of planning the range of levels that your leveled lists need to handle. For whatever it's worth, I certainly know that finishing the main quest in MOrrowind was much lower priority for my characters for that game after my first character did finish it. I suspect that is even more likely in Oblivion where the main quest is shorter and the guild quests are relatively more involved by comparison. CiB
you can do the main quest at any lvl, even 1just don't sleep in a bed, your skills could be all maxed out and you could never level Actually you can't. At level two yes, but not at level one. If you havn't done the main quest, and don't want it spoiled stop reading now ****SPOILER FOR MAIN QUEST**** Cant be too safe about these things. At one point Martin wants a deadric artifact, which involves doing one of fifteen quests all with a minimum level requirement- the lowest of which is level 2, if you sacrifice Azura's Star. *********END SPOILERS*********
Switch
8. the MQ doesn't seem to get harder or easier, no matter what level you are - so yeah, you could do it at level 1.Actually the MQ does get harder, like the rest of the game. Level 1/2 is actually vastly easier than doing it at a higher level. The MQ was a walkover with my level 2 character by comparison to my level 25+ guy. Stunted Scamps and Dremora Churls as opposed to Daedroth, Storm Atronachs, and Dremora Valkynaz. ^^;
avedon
My level 35 Nightblade seems to be impossible to harm or kill by any monster I've encoutered. They don't even know what hit them! Game is far from over, but I just like to travel a lot.
