Electroxin Posted August 24, 2014 Posted August 24, 2014 (edited) Some background info:I am using ModOrganizerI have SKSE installed and use SKSE to launch SkyrimI have a fair bit of mods (like 60 - 80)My problem is this: I have tried my best to get Sheson's memory patch working but every time I check the MemoryBlocksLog (after playing for a few mins in memory intensive scenario) my first block STILL says 256MB. I also noticed that every single time MemoryBlocksLog is created/updated, it exists in an overwrite folder within ModOrganizer - after which ModOrganizer gives me a caution symbol stating that there are files in my overwrite folder (which have been created by Memory Block Log). How can I get Sheson's memory patch to work so that my first block is using up 512MB? My skse.ini file has the following [Display] iTintTextureResolution=2048[General] ClearInvalidRegistrations=1[Memory] DefaultHeapInitialAllocMB=768 ScrapHeapSizeMB=256 Edited August 24, 2014 by Electroxin
zjamz Posted August 24, 2014 Posted August 24, 2014 (edited) Now this is a strange one... OK what I recommend is to uninstall skse and then to reinstall the same components into the skyrim directory. Then install the skse script folder (name it the latest skse version) through mod organizer. Once installed through mod organizer, open the new skse mod you created in your left mod list (Right click and go to open in explorer) then create a folder called "skse" and copy the ini with the correct settings there. Hopefully that should work. :) Edit: Gopher has a video on YouTube (www.youtube.com/watch?v=jGKhdiJYBqo) for installing skse along side mod organizer. If you do watch it, make sure you follow what I said about creating the "skse" folder for your ini config :P. Edited August 24, 2014 by zjamz
Electroxin Posted August 24, 2014 Author Posted August 24, 2014 Thanks for the video it was extremely helpful, I also took your advice and did a clean install of SKSE. Unfortunately my problem still persists. Often times what happens is that my game gets stuck in a loading screen because the memory usage is getting maxed out to 256MB. So for some reason Shesons memory fix still isn't working for me. Any other ideas?
Deleted5770650User Posted August 24, 2014 Posted August 24, 2014 You could try the version that is not part of skse. http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/50305/?

You have to launch from inside MO. Unless that is what you are saying...No need for the Sheason patch ..its part of SKSE now. Read the >skse_steam_loader.log< found in the SKSE folder in >>....\Users\[your user name]\Documents\My Games\Skyrim\SKSEEnd of log should state...=================config path = E:\Games\Steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim\Data\SKSE\skse.inioverriding memory pool sizesdefault heap = 768MB (effective 512MB if not preloading animations)scrap heap = 256MB=================== Check threads in my SIG

I checked my MemoryBlockLog and the first numbers under block 1 were 512MB. I did a stress test in windhelm spawning several guards and my skyrim crashed at about ~282MB according to MemoryBlockLog. But as I said, Shesons patch is not working for me as evident from my MemoryBlockLog regardless of what I do. SSME seems to work though, somehow.
camaro_69_327 Posted August 24, 2014 Posted August 24, 2014 all versions of skyrim need Steam...except the pirated versions.....
Deleted5770650User Posted August 24, 2014 Posted August 24, 2014 all versions of skyrim need Steam...except the pirated versions..... I don't use Steam when playing Skyrim because of Steam download problems that Steam will not fix. Every other digital download system works fine for me but not steam. Does this mean the copy of Skyrim I bought at WalMart for 59.99 is pirated? My Point it that not everyone who does not use Steam to play Skyrim is a pirate. I don't support piracy, but I also wont assume someone is a pirate just because they don't use Steam to play a game like Skyrim. If need be I can take a picture of my game DVD with my username on a piece of paper in the photo.
