Deadly Reflex question

If you don't have the Deadly Reflex Reset item in your inventory then it somehow didn't install properly. Make sure you're running it with the latest version of OBSE as well.

I recommend you uncheck all Deadly Reflex related mods, save your game, exit the game and check them all again, then start Oblivion up again. You should see the message boxes for picking new keys. After picking the keys, do not move or press anything until you see a message "Thank you, you are ready to play" or something similar to that. In addition, you should also see the Deadly Reflex Reset item in your inventory, under the Misc Items category.

I'm indeed running the latest version of OBSE.

I did as you said and I wasn't prompted with a "thank you" message. The item still isn't in my inventory, either.

Very odd. I'm not an expert or anything to begin with, but I have to say your problem is quite unusual. Deadly Reflex is far from perfect and you'll see a lot of bugs and glitches everywhere even if you install it properly, but for the most part it's very easy to get it started. Your load order is very simple and there shouldn't be anything interfering with anything there. It seems that Deadly Reflex doesn't actually continue to finish initializing after your key selections, and gets stuck somewhere.

Out of curiosity, what keys are you picking? Do you get 3 questions?

1. What key for shield bash/punch?

2. What key for dodge?

3. What key for horse combat?

Even though Horse Combat is actually disabled, you still need to pick a key, and on the off-chance that you're never asked to pick a key for this, then we know there's something messing with the mod at this point already.

This may or may not be related, but I highly recommend you get the Unofficial Oblivion Patch and the Unofficial Shivering Isles Patch. It's the only thing wrong I see with your Load Order, and for all we know, Deadly Reflex may be directly or indirectly affected by your not having them somehow (probably from some kind of broken quest or something).

You need to enable the Horse Combat ESM for the mod to work properly even though there is no horse combat in V5. I would also recommend BOSS to sort your load order but make sure you put your Deadly Reflex ESP's after the Bashed Patch at the bottom because sometimes it doesn't put DR last like it should, at least with me anyway.
