Tajjara
I was standing on the balcony of my Skyrim home, and I thought to myself: Wouldn't it be nice to read the lore books up here?' But alas time doesn't pass in the background, making it lose it's atmosphere. It would be a great way to wait around if you aren't using the 'Wait' button, a way to feel more immersed. Time doesn't stop for enchanting or smithing, so perhaps the same could be done for reading? It's certainly make picking up notes and journals in dungeons more dangerous! Tajjara
Hm, neither of those are quite what I'm after. They have time pass AFTER you read, calculating how much time you spent. What I'm looking for is something that works like when you are smithing, enchanting, or doing alchemy. The world around you still moves, sound effects play, time passes, you're still in danger. Essentially, Id like to have the book up on the screen so I can read, but the background still be moving instead of paused.

It's hardcoded into the game to pause the rest of the game while in menumode.
