Deadb4ustart
Hey I am having trouble getting any texture mods to work besides character models. i tried installing the skyrim 2k texture pack using nmm and manually it did not work either time. Skyrim will not recognize that i have installed any texture mods or lighting mods. They do not show up in the data files whem first booting up the game. I have tried removing all mods and even went as far as to delete and reinstall skyrim yet it will still not load any testure and lighting mods. please help solve this problem would be greatly appreciated.
Valkasha
What do you mean they don't show up in the data files? They are supposed to replace vanilla textures, not add more of them. Unless a mod adds something rather than just replacing something, there will be no .esp or .esm. Edited August 26, 2014 by Valkasha
Hyacathusarullistad
What he said. Most texture and mesh replacers don't have plugin or master files. To ensure the mod has installed, compare the file structure of the archive itself to the Textures and Meshes folders in your Data folder. That's where they'll be installed. As has been said, mods that straight out replace vanilla assets don't require the use of a plugin file to direct the game there, it just loads them automatically from the loose files instead of .bsa archive. cloudmage
Set the texture settings to high and your anisotropic filtering to max then post a screenshot of your vanilla (unmodded) skyrim, do the same with the HD Textures installed.
Valkasha
If they are installed there is no way for the game to load the non-modded files, because those don't exist anymore. So either you didn't install the proper way or you are mistaking the new textures for vanilla ones.
