Simple mod?

All I have been looking for is a simple mod to either reduce the total hp some mods have(Not all, most are fine, but albino rad scorpions, super mutant overlords, bruisers(in lookout point), etc just have WAY WAY WAY too much health. The difference between these guys and run of the mill mobs is just ridiculous, and at max level u see more of these than most others. Their health is almost as much(if not more) than super mutant behemoths, and that's just silly.

What I want is a mod to reduce the hp values of some of these 'super mobs' so that they are still a challenge, yet, not so far above the rest.

After emptying 3 full clips of ammo and a good part of a 4th with a fully repaired mini-gun, with 100 bug guns skill, into a bruiser as he chased me is over the top. If there is a mod out there that does this, please help me out, and I did search but couldn't find exactly what i was seeking(I have realism mods, etc, but they don't quite cut it, the 'scale' of the mobs is the same, and the only difference is with these mods, if I can 'kill these guys' in a reasonable amount of time with a reasonable amount of ammo/hits, they can usually 1-2 shot me.

I am not looking for a easy mode mod, or a 'instant kill' or 'super-weapon' skill or anything, its only a portion of the mobs i face which give me this problem, (Most are 'proper' with the mods i have already, drop in a reasonable amount of time, and with 'realistic' results. Please don't suggest any mods that replace weapons damage too much cuz while they will make the 'challenge' vs these guys fair, it would make the rest of the game a complete cakewalk. Just want something to limit the overall hp a mob can have)

Well i can't help with the mod, but what i do is just carry higher damage weapons from mods....and because these enemies have such drastically higher health i feel it's still balanced when your handgun is doing 100 damage. The fact is that at a high level, you're going to kill raiders with a single shot to the head no matter what gun you're using so even though it may seem over powered on the lower ranking enemies, by the time you reach high levels it doesn't matter anyways because you kill them easier regardless of your weapon.

This is true, but when they use weapons on me, it seems they get a huge bonus to damage, and if they also get the improved weapon damage, it turns a Challenge into a 'run and hope i live' situation.

Tried realism mods and they are great, as long as I am sniping, or fighting from long range, in close quarters I'm toast. (I enjoy playing stealthy types who get in close and kill fast, even when I 'try' to play ranged types I always end up preferring infighting)

I am right now trying higher dmg mods for weapons but it still seems silly how much I have to unload into some of these 'beasts' to put down.

Kinda think that if the maximum possible health a player can have at 30, considering a player who went all out for high health/defense, is around 600, it seems just foolish to come up against a mob who has 3000+ hp(NOT a behemoth, these guys actually have less on very hard than super mutant overlords at lv 30)

But thanks for the suggestion, it is apparently my best choice at this time :D

I made this mod a hour or so ago, and just saw this thread. It only fixes Point Lookout but If it helps you in any way I'm happy.

Andrew

Pretty much what i was hoping for except that its a blanket fix?

Tested with console with behemoths, each of the overlord types, and an albino radscorp. (In front of fort independence so that the bos outcasts could 'help me test'

They cut down the behemoth in seconds, the guy couldn't even get near the bridge.

2 overlords pretty much decimated the outcasts, eventually they died but not before all but 2 outcasts were dead.

2 radscorps got cut up but killed a few first, being melee was expected. :(

What bugs me is how quickly they dispatched the behemoth(who should be the 'strongest' in the game, considering there are only 5 in the whole wasteland, and being that they SHOULD be the oldest and badassiest of them all) yet how much trouble they had with a pair of 'run of the mill' mobs.

Gonna try your mod out and see how it goes. Thanks :P (Trying to find a way to 'limit' mob hp/resists/etc myself, see if its even possible)

I hear ya with the close range thing....when i go to Point Lookout my nerves are wrecked when those big suckers come running fast as hell at you and fight melee against you. My characters are almost always snipers so most things are killed long before any of them know i'm there and/or killed on their way running towards me. I really hate those damn albino radscorpions....they seem to be the worst to me. I can take out the Overlords relatively easy because they almost always carry a tribeam laser rifle which isn't very acurrate. When there's 2 of them and one of them has a gatling laser it gets scary fast. My recommendation is to always carry stealth boys and some jet/psyco/yao guai meat and when the time comes give it hell. It's also smart to play the land to your favor if ever possible...fight from up on a rock so they can't attack you or find cover when you're getting overwhelmed.

Oh another thing that i think a lot of people take for granted and over look....bottle cap mines and nuka grenades. The bottle cap mine is the second deadliest thing in the game second to a mini nuke and the nuka grenade follows in 3rd and both do over 500 damage per successful hit. When things get really bad, hit a stealth boy, then run and drop bottle cap mines between you and the target and start blasting away. They'll follow you and hit the mines every time. If you throw some nukas at them before the fight starts it helps to soften them up. At higher levels my characters usually end up with 2 priorities...finding parts to make mines/grenades and stock piling ammo.

Another thing is utilize those hot keys. Mine are usually something like, 1) stempacks 2) snipe weapon 3) automatic "gotta lay down some firepower" weapon 4) silenced weapon for indoor close quarters sneaking 5) super/big gun weapon, usually a Fatman 6) nuka grenade 7) bottlecap mine 8) stealthboy. I used to use the dart gun a lot, which is also a handy item you may wanna consider. It's especially helpful for melee characters who charge you real fast..a couple darts will slow them down enough so you can drop some mines in front of them. If you find that you use up your stealth boys too fast, start using the dart gun more often and save the stealth boys for when it's time to tuck tail and run.

i agree with evil d. and personnaly after thuroughly testing in game id say you have to inflict 2.3k damage to kill a behemoth and 3k to kill an overlord while the overlord has a dr of 70 percent or so.so in reality you inflict morfe like 6k damage to an overlord before the mob god dies.and bethesda! wtf??? the behemoth was your immma kill you player so why with dlc is his dr lowered from around 50 to 20? makes him way too weak.and i hat the freaking chargers in point lookout! i walked out of the chicks shack that wants you to get her stuff for moonshine and 4 had spawned right outside...on veryhard can anyone say insta-kill?

The problem i see is that its only a very few specific mobs, and any 'blanket fix' changes ALL the mobs(so the game ends up being too easy - one shot kills, or too silly,)

Why isn't there a 'simple' mod that simply alters THOSE mobs, NOT all of them. Overlords, albino radscorps, and reaver ghouls are the only 3 mobs (Aside from point lookout) which are 'over the top'

Can anyone just do a simple 'tweak' to lower these guys DR/health? Is it REALLY that difficult?
