Feedback frrom Bethesda 1.7 update

Recommended Posts

I am running Win 7, FO3 Vs 1.6.0.3. Cannot update to Vs 1.7. Game starts when loader reaches 100% and fails to finish.

I E-mailed Bathesda Tech Support and here is the Reply that did not work either.

I wish you gamers with Win 7 , New Computers & FO3 luck.

"Please note that the program is not tested or supported in Windows 7. You *may* be able to run the program using compatibility mode in Windows 7, but we cannot guarantee the program will function properly in this new operating system.

Program compatibility is a mode in Windows that lets you run programs written for earlier versions of Windows. Most programs written for Windows XP also work in this version of Windows, but some older programs might run poorly or not run at all. If an older program doesn't run correctly, start the Program Compatibility Wizard to simulate earlier versions of Windows.

To change compatibility settings for a program:

NOTE: Do not use the Program Compatibility Wizard on older antivirus programs, disk utilities, or other system programs, because it might cause data loss or create a security risk.

NOTE: If the Compatibility options are grayed out, then it is a 64 bit program and cannot be changed.

1. Right-click the icon for the program.

2. Click Properties.

3. Click the Compatibility tab.

4. Check the box "Run this program in compatibility mode".

5. Choose the version of Windows the program was made for. For best compatibility, choose the latest Windows version the program was written for. Check the system requirements for the program if you are not sure.

6. It may also be necessary to check the box for "Run this program as an administrator."

7. Click Apply and OK."

Good luck Gamers

Now you tell me!! I've been running Fallout 3 GOTY on a Win 7 64bit new system since October with no problems. I didn't know that it wouldn't work. To think of all those wasted hours...

I did consult all the other threads in this forum.

Some of the descriptions so way over my head on the operating systems and programing.

I got tired and just contacted Bathesda directly. And Walla--- A company apparently so busy on helpng the New games on the new systems. They can't apparently set a plan to help the older systems. That or the right hand (programers) are not talking to the left hand (customer support.)

Good luck gamers

P.S. All you modders out there keep up the great work. I have been very impressed and kept very busy by your hard work. You are trully artists.
