ThetaOrionis01
There's one giant problem with that though.... Ok, the lawsuit is for events which may or may not have happened thousands of years ago. But if you state that something which happened 2000 or 3000 or more years ago has no relevance today, doesn't that undermine the claim underpinning the existence of the state of Israel? IIRC, the foundation of the state of Israel was based on a claim that Israelites had lived in Palestine 2000 years ago. So, if you accept the legality or morality of that claim you cannot really dismiss the thought underlying the lawsuit, can you?

Eltiraaz
The really sad part is, if this got allowed, then a slew of other utterly pathetic lawsuits would be thrown across the globe.

thanateros
well nothing says pathetic lawsuit like those civil suits that were filed again Osama Bin Laden after 9/11 for 'emotional turmoil' The main thing with Israel though is their argument was centered around having a Jewish state in a world where none existed. The only problem was/is that the land Israel occupies holds so much meaning for more than just Judaism, with that much diversity it's going to be near impossible for Jews to ever secure it validly. It's jsut a giant mess.
Marxist ßastard
Well, the largest problem is that Israel is actually paying citizens to inhabit areas that would help the country to expand its borders (for those who don't know, Israel, at one point in time, engulfed half of Egypt and large portions of several other contries) and destroying entire cities in retaliation for terrorist attacks because Osama Bin Laden's stepbrother's college roommate might be there. If the country was obtained fairly in the first place and didn't constantly attempt to expand its borders, Israel probably wouldn't be in half the mess it is today, and anti-semitism in the Middle East would probably be, er... Unchanged.
