biafra_jt
Probably North Korea..... Don't think so. North Korea has one of the worlds largest army. Not to mention that it´s well trained and got some very nice technologys to. The day Bush dare to attack north korea I will eat my hat.
link
talking about army size, i was using encarta atlas and was looking at the statistics for some countries. China has a HUGE army. Anyway, just before America declared war on Iraq i logged onto the internet, then about an hour later i went onto the atlas. The atlas took about 10 minutes to load, and i found out that the statistics of the countries armies had dissapeared. Before it has said how many divisions and stuff the US had, but now........nothing. At the moment China is overpopulated, the country will have mass starvation in 2007. Its communist, needs more place to dump its hordes of people, and has supplied Iran with nuclear catalysts. So if it invades surrounding countries, there may be a chance of war with the US. The US will probably have to declare war on China whan the mass raping/murder starts, or they will loose there world polics image for sitting on thier arses. wesaynothin
I personally thin Bush will invade California. Since Schawzennaeger was elected, he might hold off for a while.... but I'm pretty sure he's just itching to nuke us west coasters....
Casuir
i meant fully enrolled as in with all the stuff theyre trying 2 impose on us now. EG, the euro The Euro has absolutly nothing to do with the UN, neither was it forced on anyone. Afaik all countrys which joined had referendums on the matter where the public decided. Err, wrong wrong wrong and wrong. China has one of the fastest growing economys in the world and is even about to put a man into space. Mass starvation isnt on the cards nor is invading other countries. And the make up of the US army is common knowledge, you can find it out with a quick search on google so I doubt whatever atlas you were looking at would bother to hide that information. China would just poor pure mass of soldiers in, chinese outnumber americans 10 to 1, they'd literallly flood you with relatively untrained and unprepared soldiers. It'd be a massacre, no way to know who would win, but the deaths would be endless... Chinas army is relatively well trained and well equipped, this Korean war situation you describe wouldnt take place on a modern battlefield. It fields tanks, planes and helicopters on a par with if not better than US counterparts. The only area its outmatched is the Navy, but given the nature of any likely US-Chino conflict this isnt that much of a disadvantage. Most likely in such a conflict the US would have to resort to tactical nukes to make any headway, and it doesnt take much imagination to see where that might lead. Luckily China needs USA and USA needs China, Not quite true, what China needs is US investors, and you dont get rich by being patriotic. As for who the US will invade next, its unlikely they will invade anyone. They have been unable to fully control both Iraq and Afghanistan yet and as Theta pointed out are stretched thin as it is. Syria holds nothing of value for the US, bar appeasing the Israel lobby, North Korea as pointed out is far too strong, I doubt the US public would support the level of casualties which would be taken in an invasion/occupation. Iran is a full of Shia's who would blow themselves up left right and center if the US invaded. Most likely it would send the Shia's in Iraq off the scale and send Hez'bollah off to blow up Israel as well so any action there would be pure folly. If they had the resources though my money would be on Saudi Arabia. Home of most of the sept 11th hijackers and the worlds largest oil reserves. Plus the Saudis own quite a bit of the US, nice little jackpot of frozen assets there.
thanateros
War really doest solve anything in the long term. Well that is a matter of opinion, War certainly is a means to an end and I think its purpose is to solve long term conflicts. The matter here is whether or not this particular war is valid and necessary. In this case I certainly agree this war is not valid and necessary, we haven't even caught Osama or Hussein, so until we do, this war serves no purpose other than to get this country into more debt by the second. If, however the end result is the capture of these two and their trial then the war would have solved at least that much. But again, I think the cons outweigh the pros too much for this campaign to be valid by any means.
Zmid
In my opinion, the only good thing about the Iraq War was that it got Saddam Hussein out of power, but that was a side effect of the war, it had nothing to do with the main aim. Though, talking about that, has anyone else noticed that you can actually rightly point out that this war was both an abject failure and a raging success at finding and securing all Iraqi WMD, which were its given objectives? You see, you can say that it was an abject failure because not a single WMD has been found, but you can also say it is a raging success because they did find all the WMD in Iraq. HeLLL
I would like to add this quote I once heard. Fighting for peace is like fu$%ing for virginity There are no winners in a war. EVERYONE loses. I only wished that people would look to past attrochities and learn from them. I go along to my local RSA <returned services association>. The vets from the WW2, Korean and Vietnam come here. I sit down and have a couple with some of them and they are distraught that people STILL beleieve the only way to solve a conflict is to go to war. It is really depressing to hear there stories. Why do people insit that war is a good thing? The USA need to got to war because IMHO there econmy is slumping. whats the best way to turn the econmy around??? Go to war <I did a social-econmic paper once and this was a part of it very interesting>. Its really sad when a country needs to go to war to improve poll ratings and boost there econmy. Thank god for France,Germany,Russia and China. These big super powers stood up against Bush and said NO to war. Even the UN is standing up. Kofi Ananin <sic> has rejected the latest USA "plan for Iraq" saying that there is little changes from the last one. Mr Bush. The people of the world do not want your war. In the last hundred years we have seen some attrocities and the loss of life that is only measurible to an apocolptic event. Take your war somewhere else Mr Bush. We don't want it in our backyard. The blood is on your hands Mr Bush. Stop policing the globe when it suits your motives. Rememebr you have to share the world with the rest of us. In closing Mr Bush. Think of the people your wars are directly affecting. Think of the loss of innocent life you are responsible for by fighting these wars. Remember Mr Bush, you are not welcome in my house. And not only is the chinese economy prospering but China is one of the only countries that are actually doing something about the overpopulation! A country like India will be a big big problem in the future! It won't be long before India will be the largest country in the world concerning the number of inhabitants. Pharzon..
