Imagine a new Elder Scrolls series looking like this

Looks fantastic, wonder just what it'll take to run a game smoothly with that amount of detail in it though, or is the CryEngine that good it wont matter ?

Yeah thats a good question... but he said he'll post videos shortly:

The fantasy scene i created is just for portfolio purpose and there won't be a deathmatch map or something like that. This thing is not a mod, although the fps would be adequate for use in a video game.

On my old "Intel Quadcore 6600" (using a "Ati Radeon HD 4870" graphic card) the map runs fine (System -> Win7 64 bit with high graphic specs ingame). The fps are between 13 and 26 frames. They would be even better if i spent more time on optimization, but since this project is just for visual demonstration i focussed more on design than on performance.

I will upload more screenshots and an ingame trailer within a few weeks. I will also post more information when it's done.

Those look fantastic but am pretty sure whatever look Bethesda goes with for TES V it will be gorgeous and fps friendly. Am still amazed i can run FALLOUT 3 with no frame loss while having Anistropic Filtering maxed out at a high resolution with widescreen active.

There was a Crysis version of OBLIVION a few years ago but it was never released due to legal issues.

Bethesda really must take not of this... TES V like this? Hell, hell, hell, hell, hell, hell, hell, hell, hell, hell, hell, hell, yeah.

I really wouldn't care if it looked just like Oblivion, as long as the engine is optimized and it takes proper advantage of multicore processors. I'd much rather they focus on gameplay than more eyecandy, even though those screenshots are gorgeous. Perhaps a happy medium can be found. I really don't want to have to go buy another rig to play the next ES title.

haha, yeah....me too...from an x800GTO to a 7950GT and now a 5770  Ima have to beef up sooner or later....I feel so old with my AM2 mobo and DDR2 RAM haha...least I got a nice sound card and graphics card

Gorgeous, but damn near impossible to run smoothly probably. The first engine is a computer strangler as it is, this one looks like the killer

I'm sure TESV will be beautiful and FPS friendly as well  I'll be ready regardless

I wouldn't mind trying something different from the Gamebryo engine for once. The visual effects the CryEngine2 produces is drop-dead gorgeous... and now they have the CryEngine3!

If Bethesda wanted to take a leap in visual presentation, the CryEngine3's a great place to start. Whoo-whee.
