VampiricDolphin
I am currently at 60 FPS and it's making me nauseous. Is there a setting I can change or an .ini tweak I can make to lower it? I'd rather not sacrifice graphics quality (currently on ultra high), but if I have to turn that down then I will. Thanks!
OozyGorilla
Well, turning down graphics options won't decrease framerate. It will only increase it. I'd seriously suggest suffering with it. You will get used to it and the overall experience in all games will be that much better. If it is too much for you, there are a few FPS Limiters around there. I actually use the capture software DXtory. It's main purpose is to record video, but it also allows you to limit your fps to anything you want, even without having to capture gameplay and taking that performance hit. I'm sure others have other, better suggestions but DXtory is the only one I have experience with.
Shubal
It took me a few weeks for my eyes and inner ears to get used to it. You will adjust overtime and become part of the Borg. ;)
notmyhome
If you're using ENB, there's a setting for that somewhere. If you don't yet, using an ENB will probably take care of that problem all by itself :D
Valkasha
Umm.. Higher fps = less stutter = less nauseous right? I think you got things backwards, high fps = easier on the eyes and brains. High fps doesn't mean your eyes need to work harder, it just means that there will be less moments where there is no frame change, thus making the overall game feel smoother. haiUnder
I really dont get what youre saying, more FPS is a good thing. I made this post today on how to have better performance for Skyrim. Go see it if you want http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/2083384-my-guide-to-a-smooth-running-skyrim-with-only-4gb-of-ram/
camaro_69_327
you are more then likely suffering the 64 Hz Bug.....I know it makes me sick to my stomach also....Skyrims timing is set to 64 Hz and that causes a skip , in turn makes you nausous...Look up 64 Hz bug... You do'nt say what you have for GPU....If Nvidia I can help... In Skyrimprefs.ini turn off Vsync = "iPresentInterval=0" This will disable Skyrims Vsync. Next you need to cap the game , In Nvidia's control panel Set Vsync to 1/2 Refresh. IF you have a 60 Hz monitor this will net you 30 FPS...liquid smooth. I fought this for a loooong time... It is easy to lower your FPS....:) install a FULL blown ENB....guaranteed to drop ya 20 - 30 FPS....
azile0
Check out your video card settings. If you're using an nVidia card, then the nVidia Inspector program can let you set a cap on your game's FPS. I would recommend capping it at 40-55, as those give good performance. Skyrim actually has a bug that if you go over 60FPS, the game's physics engine starts breaking because of the game's console limitations, which are capped at 30FPS. With nVidia Inspector, you can artificially lower your FPS cap in order to get smoother gameplay (as limiting your FPS can free up memory resources, which makes the game smoother.) Basically, some people can run at 60FPS with minor stutter- the game periodically hangs for a moment, then resumes at 60FPS. Or they can play at 55FPS with no stutter. It all depends on your machine's specs. Your problem sounds more biological, and you may want to tweak your settings and screen refresh rate. Kriiks
If youre playing in first person view... can be from Skyrim default FOV too. Felt quite sick after playing a while till I set FOV to 95 and this solved my "nauseous" problems.Just a wild guess.
FrankFH
High FPS doesn't make you nauseous, the console standard field of view of Skyrim does. Take a look at this for detailed info on how to quickly change FOV: http://hubpages.com/hub/change-fov-skyrim
