Modern Day Skyrim

I was thinking out of random, why hasn't there been an overhaul mod that changes the entirety of the world of Skyrim to a more . . . modern day Skyrim? For instance, towns have modern day buildings, inns replaced by hotels (smallish ones) and all the clothing of the npcs changed to today's set of clothing. Bandits looking like the rough characters of todays societies, Jarls dressing like our presidents of this era and the random citizens like that of our own fashion following citizens. Any more ideas? Just simply an idea, probably won't be executed though, considering all the other amazing mods out there that are still being worked on.

That would be so massive, I think many massive overhaul mods like that fall apart after awhile. It is a cool idea. If you're going all the way though, Imperials and Stormcloaks would need modern military weapons and tech (rifles and such are already in mods, but imagine tanks and drones lol), a lot of quests would likely have to be altered to fit into a modern world. Belethor now works at Wal-Mart lol. I don't know how big of a threat Alduin would be when we'd have missiles.

A Georgian or Victorian-Era mod might be more do-able. You'd have more modern clothing and buildings, there's already a musket mod, etc. but it wouldn't be too advanced.

Why not play fallout then?

Everybody keeps saying that, but to be honest fallout is really behind in graphics compared to Skyrim. Also all of the Skyrim mods, like female bodies, or companions are far better looking and also unique, you would loose all.

I played with both games, animations in fallout inferior compared to Skyrim.

If there would be a Sky-fallout, like Skywind, or Skyoblivion, that would be perfect. But won`t be, as it is not even in plan, and it would take a good 5 years to come out.

So if you got used to skyrim and it`s well made mods, you won`t go back to Fallout just play in the future.

You will play Fallout if you want to play Fallout.:)

There's that quest mod called Virus, on the Nexus. It's story is completely irrelevant to Skyrim's story, it just uses Skyrim's mechanincs and resources. I've only seen it reviewed by Gamespot, but you start out waking up in a room, not knowing what happened, and you fight for survival. Don't remember much more than that, but you might want to check it.
