Topsy_Turvy_Gypsy
Hi, everyone! :3 I'm a huge fan of Hellsing (Alucard... mmm....) and I really would like to have a mod based off of it. Perhaps even with a plot? I looked up a whole bunch of things concerning the anime, and got nothing. The only Alucard people seem to make mods for is the one from Castlevania (who is cool, but not as awesome as the Hellsing vampire). So I decided someone would have to make one for Hellsing instead. The problem is, I can't mod. So would anyone who's a skilled modder mind taking up the challenge? We can brainstorm ideas here, if you like. I have seen a few forums both on and off tesnexus that had a few good ideas, but had no idea of how to realize their dream mod. The best bet, I thought, would be to come here and request it, hoping that someone would pick it up. Here's a URL to the forum I found. Maybe it will be helpful: http://thenexusforums.com/index.php?showtopic=60306. (For those of you who don't know what Hellsing is, it is a manga and an anime (watch the OVA version, not the cruddy one) concerning vampires, religion, and controversial material. The plot is complicated, and you would have to read or watch to really understand what we're talking about here.) If anyone can or is interested in picking up this mod, it would be very much appreciated by more than a few people. Thanks for taking the time to read. Cheers,Topsy_Turvy_Gypsy
sanguine18
Agreed!!! :D. (not a modder but I'm just here to shamelessly throw myself behind this idea  ) It would be totally cool if you could get the Hellsing organisation as a joinable faction (sans guns of course, but I think it would still be fun) and you could work with Alucard and Seras to save Tamriel from a ghoul invasion !  . Thedragonemperor
I second this idea. It really would be awesome to have something like this in Oblivion. Sadly, I am not a modder, but, like the sanguine18, I throw myself behind it all the way.
Topsy_Turvy_Gypsy
Thanks, guys. :) Nice to know that there is some support for this idea. Anyway, while I was at school, I came up with a plot idea that's sort of based on one that was in the forum I supplied: You are travelling along, passing the Barren Caves (must be at night), when you see a man struggling to fight off a few vampires. Should you choose to help him out, he will reveal himself to be Prof. Abraham Van Hellsing, and he would like to recruit you as a fellow vampire hunter. You agree, of course, and then Hellsing asks that you meet him somewhere secret (don't know where. Probably in a house in the Imperial City, or something). When you arrive there, you find that there are several other people: five men, including Hellsing, and one woman. They introduce themselves as the characters from Bram Stoker's novel: that would be Johnathan and Mina Harker, Arthur Holmwood, Quincy P. Morris, Dr. John Seward, and of course Hellsing himself. They tell you the story of how they came to hunting vampires; namely one vampire, Count Dracula. You agree to help them, and proceed to a seemingly abandoned castle, where you face off with the Count and his three wives. However, unlike in the novel, Dracula does not die. Instead, Hellsing agrees to spare him so long as the vampire serves his family until the end of time. Dracula hesitantly accepts, having no other choice except death, and he becomes Alucard. I'm not sure how we would incorporate the modern day Hellsing organization, or their enemies, unless the plot continues somehow. Like, there is a fastforward in time, or something. Or, perhaps after another mission or two, Hellsing dies, and you take up the mantel and agree to take Alucard to Hellsing's son, or whatever. Or Alucard remains your constant companion. I dunno. It's just a thought. :)
sanguine18
I dunno if I'm too comfortable mixing Stokers Dracula and the Hellsing series but I suppose it could work :). Imo it would look better if we outfitted them with anime costumes instead of traditional 18th century ones. Also I'm in agreement with a time shift, maybe stage the second part of a quest in a different world zone (because you get turned by Alucard after receiving fatal wounds during the Dracula battle on the order of Professor Hellsing?) (recreate London? *nods frantically*) one where you couldn't get back to Tamriel's worldspace, replace the swords with guns and maybe add some new magic for Alucard's art forms (which he could teach you  ) Invading the castle with 6 guys and fighting (I assume Dracula would have minions too) would be such a lag fest on my comp :L I can barely go into a dungeon with a party of 2-3 guys and play enjoyably. But I suppose that's my problem  . This mod would take some amount of work O.o.

Thedragonemperor
To give my two cents, what if you were able to restore the castle, the one where you find the count and his wives, to its former glory after you gained Alucard as a companion? If it is possible, that might be another reward for going through everything.

I'm just going with what the story line in Hellsing suggests: they do reference back to Stoker's novel in the beginning of one of the OVAs (#4, I believe?), so I just inferred what the original plot would have been like. :) And perhaps we could gain the anime costumes after the first half of the story line? If we do jump ahead, then it would make sense for a costume change. As far as not being able to get back to Tamriel, the idea doesn't sit well with me. I like Oblivion for what it is. But if you mean just during the initial quest, then sure, that'd be okay. I don't know if you can replace swords with working guns--at least, not in the traditional sense. But I could be wrong, as I'm not a modder. And perhaps to help with computers that have a lot of lag, you can pick and choose who you want to follow you in, or just run in on your own. Like, you could have a "wait" option, where you just tell the other characters to stay behind. That way you don't have to worry about having six guys follow you into a dungeon. :) It certainly would make things easier for everyone else, too, since it's incredibly annoying when you're trying to slash at a baddie and your partner gets in the way. =_=; That's happened one too many times with me. What is a dwemer, exactly? And what do they have to do with guns? I'm not sure I follow... Ah! So there can be guns in Oblivion. I wasn't sure. :) And these bases will probably help quite a bit.
