Docpomus
Hi everyone, I am fairly new to installing mods. It seems like most mods give you a Mesh and Text folder. How do you store them in the Data folder? Is it okay to have several, like "Data1","Mesh1","Data2" ect. OR can I put a data folder in a data folder? Might be a stupid question but I don't understand it and could use some direction. Thankfully this is a SUPER helpful community! Thanks everyone! Mushashi7
No, you can only have one Data and one Textures and Meshes folder. If you create folders with different names the game will not be able to find the files. Skyrim is set to look for the standard folders.Installing mods have to be in these folders, and no other place. Are you worried about overwriting files? simsim899
Yep Mushashi7 is right. What you can do is, if you copy across the meshes and textures folders from a mod into your skyrim data folder, it should ask you if you want to merge the folders (as there are already folders called meshes and textures in the skyrim data folder). Choose yes and everything should go in the right place. Or you could just use a mod manager to do it all for you, like NMM :)
