  1. If there was a 'like' button, I would like this post a million times XD Congrats guys!! Truly amazing.
  2. Pardon if I'm incorrect, but it seems that they currently have no active team working on Black Marsh. Is that because they've already finished it, or is it just not on their agenda? because a country like Black Marsh may be an interesting one to attempt The province of Black Marsh is in the 'preliminary discussion phase' at the moment. No actual development of it in the CK has started yet as far as I'm aware (although it does have a completed heightmap), but lots of planning and development of the lore has been done already. They are definitely looking for people to join though, and help get it further off the ground, so if you're interested in that, you can head over to the forums and sign up.
  3. I like this idea! I'm already working on several mods at the moment, but maybe when I've finished those or have a chance I might try and make this. Doesn't sound too hard to do, I'm pretty sure I know how to do it, so it would be cool to have a go at, as I've never made a follower type mod before, and I like to stretch myself with trying new things :)
  4. Thanks moto! You were right, my graphics card was the culprit :P Luckily though it wasn't dying, I just must have had faulty driver installation or something, as when I updated my driver, problem solved! :) It wasn't like I was using a particularly old driver before though, it was only from Feb 2015, and the new driver didn't list any bug fixes in the change log... meh, weird >_<
  5. Tried F12 - didn't do anything. I have the steam overlay disabled for Skyrim though so I think that's why it doesn't work. Or, maybe I changed the default F12 key to printscreen? Because when I press printscreen it says in the corner: "ScreenShot: File 'ScreenShot235.bmp' created" and it gets saved to my skyrim folder. Just that most of them look like the examples I showed.. :ermm:
  6. So I've got this problem, don't know when it started, but I didn't used to have this problem, probably only started a few months ago I think. Basically, when I'm in-game and I try and take a screenshot (by pressing the printscreen button), it fails about 80% of the time.. Instead, this is how my screenshots turn out: http://i.imgur.com/Es5EgoU.png http://i.imgur.com/lr5qIH5.png But it's not every time, as I said, about 20% of the time it works fine and I get a normal looking screenshot. Anyone have any idea what the problem might be, or what I could do to try and fix it? Thanks
  7. I had this exact same problem too before. I tried everything Matthias said as well, and it still didn't fix it. I'm afraid I still don't really know what the issue was, so I can't really tell you how to 'fix' it per se, but basically, what I did so it's not an issue for me any more is this: Using a mod called Skyrim Installation Swapper (MO would probably work as well but I've not used it myself), I created a new 'profile', which was completely vanilla. So I didn't reinstall skyrim or anything, I still have my old modded profile, but I also have a vanilla one. Then with the vanilla profile as the active one, and after copying over the esp I was working on and everything else I needed (scripts etc..) back into my data folder, I opened the CK again with the new profile. And.. problem gone! I don't know if the problem is still there if I open the CK on my modded profile as I haven't actually checked, but it just means now whenever I make my own mod I do it on the other profile, which acts as a test profile as well as it is mostly vanilla. So yeah.. probably reinstalling skyrim would fix it, but this way I didn't have to do that. I still don't understand it though, because validating the CK cache didn't work, so why did this? Lol, I dunno, weird.. EDIT: oh, okay, never mind then, I posted before I saw you said it was fixed :P Oh well, I guess my game is just special haha :3
  8. Lol, thanks for that :P I was testing it on a newish save... but I guess not new enough - I started a new game and now it says 30 like it's supposed to! Silly me, I should know better than that by now! :psyduck: :P Thanks!! ;)
  9. I have a very weird problem lol and I can't figure out why :/ Basically, in a mod I'm making, I have made a global variable, and set it's value to 30, as that's what I want its initial value to be. But, I also have a script I made that will tell me what the value of my global is when I cast a spell (it's not really a spell but I'll just say that so it's simpler, as it doesn't really matter). And whenever I check to see what the value of my global is, it tells me it's 44?? wut o_O Why is it doing that? I have triple checked and it's defininetly set at 30, and nothing is changing it, except decreasing its value by one every time I cast another, different spell (again, it's not really a spell but I'll say that so it makes sense here), which is working, as when I check it again it says 43, then 42, then 41 etc... But it's supposed to start on 30!? Not 44? I am very confused lol >_< If someone maybe knows what is going on here and can help, I'd very much appreciate it. Thanks! :)
  10. Something a bit like this? http://static-5.nexusmods.com/15/images/110/8345545-1427402710.png
  11. Hello  Firstly, I've never done one of these types of posts before, so excuse me if what I want to say doesn't come out very well, but I'll just go ahead and have a go! Anyway... I've been working on a mod for I'd say about 5 months now. At first it was just going to be a mod that added a new (fully custom modelled and textured) shield to the game. Then I decided I wanted this shield to be unique, so I gave it a new (non-vanilla) enchantment. But then I thought, I want to give the shield a bit of a back story, so it fits in to the world of Skyrim. Maybe make a short little adventure for how the Dragonborn can acquire this unique shield. And well basically, since then the idea has expanded even more, to the point where I now have a 2 part quest as the basis to this mod, and the shield being the 'trophy' you get when you complete them. Now, you're probably thinking 'oh, another one of those posts, someone thinks they've had a genius idea and now wants to get a mod team to make it for them'. Well.. no, not really  I have actually already completed probably over half of the mod now myself. I've built the quest's custom dungeon (although cluttering and navmeshing is not completely finished yet). I've modelled and textured the shield. And I've completed the first of the two quests, with voice acting (I've managed to use vanilla voices). However, after a lot of thinking, I realise I may actually need another person to help me finish this mod. Not a whole mod team, it's not going to be that big, but just a partner to work with me on it together. Because, at the stage where I am now, I've found some of what I want to do requires quite a bit of complicated scripting. Now, I can script myself, and have done scripting already for the first quest and for the shield's special ability (I don't want to say what that is here though so as not to spoil it  ), but some of what I need to do is just a little bit beyond my abilities at the moment (I'm far from an expert at scripting). So, really, I'm looking for someone who is good at scripting, to work with me in completing this mod. You wouldn't just be made to write the scripts for me though (although if that's all you wanted that is fine), you'd also be welcome to share your ideas for making the mod even more awesome  And help with anything else you want, like perhaps better cluttering my dungeon lol. So yeah, I guess that's really all I need to say there then. If you're interested in working with me, please send me a PM, or you could comment any interest here  Also, I guess I should show some screenshots of my progress so far, or else probably no one would even consider joining lol  So, here are some shots of my dungeon I took (no ENB or lighting mods were used btw):
  12. From your load order it looks to me like you haven't used LOOT. Make sure you run it to sort your plugins.
  13. I'm trying to make collision for a static mesh, but having a bit of a problem.. :/ I'm using chunkmerge, which I've used before, and I know how to use as well. I've added collision to many other static objects before as well, using the exact same method I'm doing with this. However, for some reason, once I've added collision to the mesh and test it out in game, the collision is not there? I don't get it, everything is Nifskope looks right - its got the bhkCollisionObject node, followed by bhkRigidBody > bhkMoppBvTreeShape > bhkCompressedMeshShape > bhkCompressedMeshShapeData and another BSFadeNode, which is the same for all the other models I've added collision to that work. Also, in the esp, the static DOES have use collision checked. So, the only possibility I can think of is... can chunkmerge not handle making collision for objects above a certain size? Because this mesh I'm doing is pretty huge. Or, is the skyrim engine just not able to have collision work on very large objects? I hope someone can help me out with this, or maybe knows if this could be the problem or not, and what else I could do. I'm doing this for a friend see, and don't want to disappoint! :P Thanks!
  14. What is the nif that you are trying to import? You probably deleted the NiTriShapes or the NiTriShapeData of the actual mesh when you edited it for importing. Try again with the original mesh and only delete the nodes for the textures, collision, flags etc. If you miss any nodes that you should have deleted, when you try and import it blender tells you in the console what nodes it doesn't recognise. Hope that helped :)
  15. It could be that your PC doesn't have adequate cooling and is overheating. What is your cooling like? Do you have water cooling, or how many fans, and how is your cable management? I have similar PC specs to yours, and also a similarish mod list, though bigger, and I believe that is the main reason for my crashes. Running MSI Afterburner while playing Skyrim usually shows a GPU temperature spike right before I crash. Although this happens much less frequently now that I've cleaned all the dust out of my case and turned off the radiator in my room (you'd be surprised how much of a difference that makes). You could try getting MSI Afterburner (it's free), and use the on-screen display to monitor temperatures when you play Skyrim (although you can't use it if you use an ENB). If you find they go high when you freeze or crash, I bet overheating is the problem and you need better cooling. Also, I notice you have Convenient Horses. You could try turning on the script latency checker it has in the MCM, to see if your problem is caused by having too many heavily scripted mods. That was another cause for my CTDs as well I believe, as since uninstalling some scripted mods I don't need (and running the save game script cleaner), my CTDs have become far less frequent. Finally, make sure when you run Skyrim you don't have any other (non-essential) programs running in the background. I have disabled windows aero as well as that uses a lot of memory which is unnecessary. Also, if you have wireless internet, you may consider turning off the adapter when you play Skyrim. I had an awful time with lag and stuttering and screen tearing, everything, when I had my wireless adapter enabled. I don't know why, and it took AGES to figure out it was the culprit to those problems, but turning it off almost completely stopped the stuttering, lag etc... Now I have wired internet though and it's perfectly fine to leave on when I play. Anyway yeah, so, hope that helped a little bit! :)
  16. I think I probably do too. I too have/had depression (it's under control with meds anyway), although I don't think I use skyrim to help with that. Rather, it helps more with just relaxing my brain when it's in overdrive. See, I have high functioning autism, and real life can often get quite overwhelming. Playing skyrim helps my mind to slow down, and is also a good escape from the stresses in life. However, I mainly play skyrim because I love it, and it's all I ever seem to want to do lol :P
  17. I'd use LOOT instead of BOSS, as boss is no longer supported and loot is basically its successor. Also, get SKYUI, so you can have the MCM.
  18. Scriptname DanielTeleport extends ObjectReference ObjectReference Property Loc01 Auto Event OnActivate (objectReference akActionRef) If akActionRef == Game.GetPlayer() Utility.Wait(1.5) Game.FadeOutGame(False, True, 2.0, 1.0) Game.GetPlayer().MoveTo(Loc01) Game.EnableFastTravel() Game.FastTravel(Loc01) EndIf EndEvent I believe this should work. Just attach it to the activator. Hope that helps! :)
  19. Hi again thanks guys for the replies :) Thanks Boombro for the link I'll definitely take a look at it when I do get round to upgrading :) Also, VileTouch, my CPU is factory overclocked (by which I mean it was overclocked already when I bought the PC) so I don't really know how to disable it :/ However, thanks for reminding me to clean out my data folder lol! I did have a bunch of junk in there, many esps I wasn't actually using, and I uninstalled a few mods I didn't use either and they weren't at all necessary. (I did uninstall them one at a time, making a clean save between each, and using the save game script cleaner :P ) And that did actually seem to help a bit :D I managed to go into Lakeview manor (which previously crashed almost every time I tried to enter because a really buggy mod I tried had screwed it up) without a CTD! Granted, I still wont ever be using Lakeview Manor as a home again as it's now a total mess, like for example, all of the beds are missing lol! But it's not crashing anyway so that's good :) Anyway, so.. I'm guessing my main problem just lies with the fact I have LOTS of mods, many very script intensive..? As I believe I have a pretty decent CPU.. :/ So, would there be any point in upgrading it? :S I still think I wanna upgrade my GPU though, as trying to use realvision ENB with my current card is a bit of a struggle! :P But yeah, thanks guys for all the help and advice! :)
  20. Thank you guys for the replies, I really appreciate it :) Boombro - my cpu is an i7 3770k overclocked to 4.4GHz.. Which is weird, cus that is quite powerful, right? :S Also, I looked up what my motherboard is - it's an MSI Z77A-G43. Just read a review of it though and it seems like it's not a very good board? But I'm not sure :/ Would it be worth it replacing the motherboard? I don't know much about motherboards lol, I know more about graphics cards and other stuff :P Also, I think you meant to link me a website? Cus you didn't give a link haha :P PhilippePetain - Thanks for mentioning that script latency test thing actually! I have convenient horses too, but forgot it had that feature. I just turned it on to see what mine was like, and on entering one of my player houses it shot up to 465ms?!? I read that it says to ignore the weird ones you get when coming out of menu mode, and those were like 6000 to 14,000. So, could the 465 be legit?? If so, I'm guessing that is not good. Also, I do have the save game script cleaner lol, and use it every time I do uninstall a mod (which I do try not to do, but sometimes I have to if it's so buggy like that one was). When I did uninstall that mod though, I used the cleaner, and haven't had that problem since. It got fixed as all the scripts were taken care of :) I also do have my ini settings on.. defaut-ish. All I've changed is my ugridstoload are on 7 (which I did AGES ago and that NEVER caused issues), and my grass values are changed as I use one of those grass mods. Also I have cleaned all my esms with TES5Edit and some other mods as well :) I should perhaps point out that I actually am a modder, and have made several mods that are on the nexus, incase you thought I was a complete beginner with modding :P But thanks for all the tips anyway man :) So I guess then, maybe I just have too many script heavy mods? :S If it helps I can post my loadorder let me know. saurusmaximus - Thanks for that man that's just what I wanted to know :) I do already have the save game script cleaner and currently my save has no orphan scripts, so I don't think that's my issue, but thanks anyway :) Also I have got the skyrim performance monitor, but have only used it once or twice lol :P I guess I will try using it again and see if it tells me anything :) And also, I'm pretty sure my load order is good (not 100% positive though). I do use loot, but also have become quite experienced in sorting my load order manually, since I've been modding before LOOT came out and was using BOSS before, and for that it had a lot of mods it didn't 'recognise', so wouldn't actually sort (it would leave them at the end of the load order), so I became pretty good at figuring out where things should go in the order myself, and have always had a pretty stable game. The CTDs really only just happen at times when I expect lots of scripts are firing, or there's lots of stuff to load, or I have too many high res texture mods. Wow I wrote a lot! Okay I'm going to finish this post now lol :P Thanks guys! :)
  21. Hi :) So, I was wondering... Basically, I want to buy myself a new graphics card with the money I got for Christmas and have been saving up for a while too. I currently have a GTX 660 Ti and I think I want to get a GTX 980. But, here's my question.. Will it actually help my Skyrim game? You see, I have a lot of mods, 246 to be precise. And quite a lot of them are very script intensive. Now, my fps is actually fine, I usually get a pretty steady 50-60 fps. But, I do get quite a lot of CTDs. The problem is though, I'm almost positive they're not caused by a messed up save, mod conflicts, load order problems etc.. As, for one thing, they usually aren't replicable, as in, I might CTD trying to go into a house, but I when I restart and try and enter again, it doesn't CTD. Also, they really only happen at times/in places that are very script intensive. For example, I love the house mod Morskom, but unfortunately I can't use it anymore :( I used to be able to go in the house with no problems when I first got the mod and it wasn't at all furnished. But now that I've done a lot of improvements to the house, every time I try and enter the house I CTD. Well... Almost every time. Very occasionally I can go in without a crash. But if I move around the house too fast, then it may CTD. Also another house mod that I have filled with decorations and stuff, and also like filled all of the 8 bookshelves, will sometimes CTD when I try and go in because there's so much stuff in there or something. Now.. I know that some of my CTDs are from mod problems, like a dark brotherhood mod I had, that was known to be quite buggy, I had to uninstall as after a while it CTDed every time I fast travelled. Anyway.... I just realised I've rambled on a lot now, and gone off on a bit of a tangent lol, so sorry about that, I will get to the point. Will a better graphics card allow Skyrim to handle more scripts without CTDs, or does Skyrim have a limit to how much scripts it can handle at once, regardless of your PC specs? (sort of like the memory cap it has that you can get around with SSME) Thank you for reading and I hope someone can give me a response :) And sorry for making this post so long!! Sometimes I get a bit carried away, lol :P
  22. Hi :) Well.. I hope you don't mind me suggesting my own mods lol, but I have 3 different unique weapon mods that all place the weapons in the world for you to find, each with their own mini backstory. One of them even has a mini treasure hunt type quest in order to get the weapon. So hopefully these are they sort of mods you're looking for! :) They are: Shadowsting (The Lost Dagger) - http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/58173/? The Ruby Knife - http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/58432/? Aetherial Pulse Axe - http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/58942/? Hope you enjoy! :P
  23. Hey, thanks for replying! :) Well.. I did decide to just start again. Luckily I made a backup from just before I started landscaping ;) I think instead I'm just going to find a hill or something instead of a mountain, so the player will definitely be able to climb it lol :P
  24. Hey guys, So.. I'm working on a new mod atm. It was originally just going to be a mod that adds a new and unique piece of armor to the game, but over the weekend I thought up an idea for a cool quest to get the item. So now, that's what I'm doing! But.. It is not going so well.. :( Basically, I'm doing some exterior landscaping (which I've never actually done before, but I knew how to do it already from watching endless BS landscaping on twitch lol :P ) as the quest will add a new location where there will be a boss fight. And here's the problem.. I stupidly chose an area to make the new location that is VERY steep.. :/ Well, because I wanted it to be on a mountain. So, I'm adding steps to climb up the side of the mountain to get to the top where I've flattened out an area. But, the steps are too steep for the character to climb! D: And I can't make them less steep, as then they don't touch the ground at the bottom and there's a huge drop. Also, part of new area which I didn't realise, is beyond the game borders.. :/ Now, I know you can toggle them of in the ini settings, but I feel this might also put people off my mod, as lots of new mod users don't know how to do that stuff, or aren't will to do it in fear they will break their game.. :/ But I've already edited the landscape in that area quite a lot, so I cant really just move it into the border, as then there'd be a huge gap behind it. So.. I'm just very cross and dunno what I'm gonna do now :( Maybe if someone who's really good at landscaping could take a look at it for me and try and see if there's a way to make it so the play can actually climb the steps. Well.. climb them without clipping through them (as you can climb them currently, but just they're so steep you can see underneath the land :/ ) Anyway yeah.. I'm rambling now, sorry. I just dunno what to do ahh!! :(
