ok, if that is your main concern, check out this link, specifically the 4th response from " Liighthead "

Great, thanks for the link! Does that mean that it is possible to run the Asus gtx570 I mentioned earlier with my motherboard at x4, albeit with a slower performance? Or does that not work for other reasons, like size?

Reason that I ask is, at the time I don't have the budget for a motherboard upgrade, though wouldn't mind to in the future. Buying a good GPU running at lower performance for the moment, would be better than having to buy a lesser one for now and then having to upgrade again after a while.

from what I read you should be able to do it, although since I am not a parts guru, might want to search for more answer

from what I got from it is the fact that it will work although there might be some bottlenecking, don't think it will really matter in skyrim, but a racing game like GTA you might see the bottlenecking more, or maybe a plane simulator or space game

Hey everyone, just wanted to give this thread some closure. I succesfully installed an Asus GTX570 last week along with a 650W psu, and the game looks fantastic! I installed hi-res textures, and am using the Stakado realistic & cinematic ENB.

Framerate is about 30 fps outside with some drops sometimes, inside it gets to 60fps. I included a few screenshots. Thanks again to everyone helping me out!
