Gasmask in Oblivion

Ya know what's been missing from Oblivion?

 

Gasmasks. So many thing from the modern day have crept into Tamriel. Guns. Dirigibles. Porn stores. But no one has though to simply make a gasmask.

 

Honestly. How many times have you been trapped in one of those Ayleid gas-chambers and wished, as your character fell dead to the floor, that you had a gasmask?

 

So, I ask, in all due humility and with the full knowledge of how tricky this'd be, request a gasmask of the oblivion community.

Well, I happen to think it'd be a good, if not lore-friendly addition. I suppose a steampunk-ish retexture could come about afterwards, if someone wanted to make it a Dwemer device, or someone could check out my plague doctor helmet request, but lore aside, this mask would be awesome.

 

As always, kudos from me, and endorsements from just about anyone on the Nexus if ya do it!

 

Please, if this interests you, please post. Keep this thread alive; modders and modellers pay more attention to active threads!

EDIT: Ah, I should always read threads more carefully, I see you already suggested the bird mask. Oh well, I support that one then.

Well Kieran, it could even be made to suit oblivions themes, maybe base it off a mask or some sort of thing as if protecting from a plauge, in oblivion style?

Well, with whatever mask you pick, it would be easy to add an enchantment to it that would give you 100% immunity to poison.

I too will definitely have to go with the birdy masque, love that one. Already made the plague in my game, and some odd folks walking around with these masks would not be a bad idea at all :P

 

Can't model or whatever, so hereby atleast contributing an opinion.

How about asking Neunen about permissions for converting his Plague Doctor mask to Oblivion? It's included his Fallout 3 mod of the same name:

Might need worked on meshwise, I can't recall if the Hat is separate from the mask, but he does include a standalone hat, so there's a chance it could be removed.

Glad to see everyone being enthused about it! So, on to the specific replies:

Lhammonds: Yes, I did consider it. Some scripts, also, so that it also saves you from the Spiddal spores. Maybe it detects if you've had the specific spiddal damage spell cast on you, and removes it?

 

@Greatlucifer: You did the plague? Great minds think alike!

 

@Thevampiredante: Well, I personally would prefer to have it made from scratch. Anyway, it's still supposed to be a WIP, and fixing it'd probably be more trouble than it's worth. I'll keep me options open, though.

 

@Jack: True, but lore isn't a huge concern for me at the moment.

 

@Everyone: Do check out some of my other requests, if only to vote and comment on the polls, my second latest one especially. My Slaanesh armor idea is my favorite, and would probably go well with the mask.

A mask would cool but it would be easier to just make a helmet and make it look like a mask like the provided image

Oh, cool! Thank you for saying, but really, your schedule is really, really full, and I'd hate to burden you. I'm sure there're modellers with less of a workload out there.
