Oh by the way i have held down the power button to double check that its set correctly to use the scart connect. Hope someone can help me
ub3rman123
Hmm.. I can't think of anything other than the obvious: Are you playing a game that's in black and white, e.g. Madworld? Also, have you tried altering the contrast and other display settings on the television?
overload1977
How to Access Playstation Recovery Menu 1. Turn off Playstation®3. 2. Hold The power button down; The system will turn on and turn off once again. 3. Once the System has been shutdown, re-press you finger until you hear 2 consecutive beeps 4. When you hear the 2 beeps take finger off power button. 5. You will be promted to plug in your controller via usb and then hit the PS button 6. The Recovery menu will pop up. if that don't work update your console firmware (ie plug the internet into it) :teehee:
ub3rman123
Listen to the above. Closest I've had to a console is an old GameBoy Color.
katashy
It might be to do with PAL and NTSC. Where do you live and where did you purchase the console?
Sinophile
Ehhh, what's a scart connection? I still don't fully understand the problem. You've stated that you've tried several television sets, but have you tried another set of cables, or the same set of cables with a VCR or similar device(I am assuming that a scart cable is similar to composite)? Another option is to use a converter box to convert scart to another format, such as composite, coaxial, or S-video.(once again, assuming such a thing exists, and that scart is similar to the aforementioned items).
