Hello,

 

After playing wow for a few months on a RP server I began to think, what if blizzard had made a RPG such as Oblivion instead of a MMORPG, then it hit me! What if the Oblivion community decided to make a mod based on Azeroth. I searched the forums as was disappointed to only find one post on this, and even that was vague and gave everyone who read it headaches. I saw a Shadowfang Keep mod and was impressed however, that was only one tiny part of a much larger world. Now in that other post people seemed enthusiastic about such a mod however, the poster seemed to have died or what not so I took it into my own hands to gather a group and create the mod to rule them all! (Wrong lore I know ;) )

 

Please give your feedback, opinions or even better, state if you might be interested in joining.

 

In my opinion the first area that should be created would be Elwynn Forest and Stormwind, but that's just my opinion.

Before anyone asks me, no way. I don't have a spare 5 years to build it. I think I'll stop after Deadmines is finished.

 

But if you do manage to get a group together, I can do the dungeons if someone else can make the models. Or you could use my Scarlet Monastery and Shadowfang Keep mods in it.

I suggest you to get started , at least with the landscape , it will be easier to attract other modders , if you have a base.

 

Now my question is , because i couldn't find any mods uploaded by you , what can you do , what can you come up with , can you mod , do you understand how much it takes to make even a home , and not from scratch ?

 

I'm asking this because the idea you proposed is barely sketched/ not sketched at all. Some of us probably didn't play WoW. How does the map looks like ? what are the races ? What about the lore ? Architecture ? How did you plan the story ? Main Quests ? Secondary Quest ? Are you suggesting a total conversion ?

 

And it would be better if you don't just copy paste a bunch of links :thumbsup:

You could probably get the heightmap for it off the Map Viewer's preview. It'd need a lot of work before it could be used, though.

unfortunately Simon doesn't have enough landscaping skills for this one.

 

But ! I can do some dungeons if needed.

Mr Goldfish on the upper post has done amazing work on Shadowfang Keep,

I was actually starting to make Shadowfang Keep just when he released his

( no lie ! ), but eh.. he did it first.

 

If it comes to it, I'm willing to do some work on dungeons and modelling if needed.

But for now..

I play WoW and I think this is a good idea tbfh.

Some of the races are already built into oblivion and I think adding more would be pointless.

There is already Death Knight Races out there, Goblin races et cetera...

The landscape would have to be done in HD textures because, well, I dont like the graphics on WoW! :D

But it'd be nigh-impossible to get it all in. Really, we could make a troll race, an orc race, a gnome race, and someone would whine about how lazy we were that we didn't make a Draenai race (Because I can't fathom such a race being possible).

Indeed, but you'd have to have everything. I'm still trying to think up a way to make a goblin Shredder.
