bben46
An extractor is a program to unzip (extract) files from a compressed (zipped) condition to make them usable. Almost all files you download, not just from TesNexus, but anywhere will be compressed to make them smaller - to keep download times shorter. The program I recommend is the FREE 7-zip program. Unlike many other supposedly free programs, 7-zip is really FREE. No free trial - then asking for money, no request for a contribution, no advertising, no register to use it, no limit on number of computers you can install on - It's just FREE. It is as good as , and actually better than some of the commercial programs I have used. It will extract (unzip) any file you download from TesNexus, and nearly any other site as well. It can handle 7z (7-zip) rar (Winrar), zip (winzip) and many more compressed file formats. And, it's available for FREE right here on TesNexus, as well as many other sites where you download files.http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=15579
ub3rman123
Heheh, it almost sounds like you're trying to sell it, bben, with all those mentions of FREE. Awesome program, though.

Drede
Btw how do I know if I am 32 bit or 64 bit?
bben46
Open the Windows control panel. Select System. A window will open with information about your system. Look for a 'system type' line and it will show either 32 or 64 bit operating system. @ub3rman123. I think I could sell 7-zip. There is a sucker born every minute - and as the winrar 'free' version is only good for 30 days, requires registration and nags you to pay. 7-Zip would be a better deal at the same price. AltreU
Now I'm not familiar with the steam version, but normally, you'd want things like:http://tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=2097, http://tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=20516,and http://tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=22368. As a warning, Wrye Bash isn't exactly a quick setup and isn't necessary, but it'll make your life easy later on with sorting mods properly and other useful functions. AltreU
++++NOTE++++ Important utility: http://obse.silverlo...d/obse_0018.zip -Before using or installing any of these, read the ReadMe files that come with them and the page where you'vedownloaded them from, otherwise the outcome may not be as desired. -These are mods that I've used and while they may not create the perfect experience for everyone, I have enjoyed benefits from each one. -There are plenty of alternatives to some of these. -Finally, if you don't like these or just want to make your quest for finding mods easier, do what I do: while on this site, go to the Browse Catagories option under Files, then select which type of mods you're looking for (a new weapon or maybe a new land to explore), then when the page loads, look at the box that says "organise" near the top of the page and set the fisrt box to either Downloads or Endorsements, set the Ascending box to Decending and hit go. Logic: finding mods that other people have obviously liked and found useful. Over the course of your time with this game you'll try mods out many times and maybe not like them. Just remember that you can come here to learn about your mod problems. Streamline: http://tesnexus.com/...le.php?id=10400 (may help the game run smoothly) Construction Set: http://tesnexus.com/...le.php?id=11367 (for making your own content, some functions easy to use, others are more advanced) Supreme Magicka: http://tesnexus.com/...le.php?id=12466 (a magic overhaul, I find it to be enjoyable, but there are others) UOP: http://tesnexus.com/...ile.php?id=5296 USIP: http://tesnexus.com/...le.php?id=10739 UOMP: http://tesnexus.com/...le.php?id=10739 (download if you got the extra content other than Shivering Isles and Knights of the Nine, if not, don't download) UOPS: http://tesnexus.com/...le.php?id=27710 Deadly Reflex: http://tesnexus.com/...ile.php?id=8273 Alternative Start: http://tesnexus.com/...le.php?id=11495 (you may eventually start using custom races, this is a more convenient alternative in my opinion) Martigens Monster Mod (Known as MMM): http://tesnexus.com/...le.php?id=17784 Chameleon-No Refraction: http://tesnexus.com/...ile.php?id=2411 (if you've used normal chameleon before, you'll understand if you use this) PIIIP-Enhanced Grabbing: http://tesnexus.com/...le.php?id=19847 SM Combat Hide: http://tesnexus.com/...le.php?id=20303 (I've seen other mods similiar, but this is the only one I've tried) DarNified UI: http://tesnexus.com/...le.php?id=10763 (changes the games interface to fit a computer game more, I've had problems with it lately though) DarkUId DaRn: http://tesnexus.com/...le.php?id=11280 (an alternative to the above, I've had the same problems with this one though) Galerion True Unarmored: http://tesnexus.com/...ile.php?id=3306 Expanded Hotkeys and Spell Delete: http://tesnexus.com/...le.php?id=20159 Hear No Evil: http://tesnexus.com/...le.php?id=25462 (use this or the one below) No Psychic Guards: http://tesnexus.com/...le.php?id=11911 Erics Archery: http://tesnexus.com/...ile.php?id=2092 (there are many alternatives for marksman, I prefer this one) Enjoy! Drede
Thanks for the sugestions. the one I'm interested in right now is fcom since it has so many other interesting mods but it has alot of requirments and it says I would be better of to do a "clean instal" but I already installed natural inviroments and I don't want to re-download Oblivion sence it took 3 days... Deadly Reflex is also a good looking mod.
